I'm a Lucas fan and thought BR treated him bad especially with Allen always playing. He has one semi crap game since Klopp came in. Allen needs to go and January wont be soon enough.

I'd rather Sturridge played the first 30 minutes and got subbed than what we did but water under the bridge now let's hope it's just a blip.

I think that there are a lot of DM better than Lucas and no manager would start a player knowing that he would last only 30 mins, have rarely seen this. If you know you have a player for only 30 mins you cannot take a risk of starting him as you limit your possibilities and it is a big risk.

The truth that few here want to face is that Klopp got virtually everything wrong, and very likely also made the mistake of underestimating the opposition. I can forgive him that as he probably doesn't know just how competitive the PL is. However his selection and starting line up was totally wrong for an important league fixture. Having said that I'd also agree that the players he did start should have done a lot better than they did, however you could also ask is that down to them or is it down in at least part to the manager?

Must have been got on the bus on the way home or else climbing into bed later, as there was little sign of any problem on the pitch. If it's true there's got to be some underlying issues, nobody can get that many serious injuries one after the other.

I don't really see what Klopp did wrong. That team should have been plenty good enough to batter Newcastle. Out of the players he had fit, I don't see how he could have fielded a stronger side. It was just a 'bad day at the office'.

I accept the players should have done better than they did, but is that all down to the players or is some of it also down to Klopp as well? He had better midfield options than those he selected as combined they have no forward thrust whatsoever and no creativity either. Then he should have started Sturridge as an early goal would have knocked them for six. Then his preparation for this game looked to be non existent as the players lacked any semblance of cohesion or knowledge of what they were doing.
As regards a bad day at the office excuse, it does’nt wash as any such day has always been caused by bad or ineffectual management somewhere or other.

I put it down to Klopp still learning about his players. He's now learnt that a midfield of Lucas and Allen is way to pedestrian and should never play together again. I guess we'll see if he's truly learnt that over the rest of the season

Agreed!

And clumsy Milner in there with them didn't make things any better either!
