remember a manger once said about the problems of our defensive vulnerability "somethings you can't coach", but the form of the defense proves the most important thing is organization and coaching, players can actually be trained to improve positioning and timing, go figure.

the team now has a true backbone, the fullbacks are now defense 1st, lining up in a tight flat back 4 shape without the ball, closing down attacks quickly with a midfielder to double team and center backs close to shield the exposed space, and the center midfield players cover for the out-going center backs.

I've been very surprised how quickly Klopp has managed to get our shambolic defence organised. Individually, I think Moreno, Skrtel and Lovren are quite poor defenders, but the excellent organisation and increased protection in front of them is more than compensating for that. I look forward to next season when I expect we'll have at least one new defender and probably a new goalkeeper.

“It is a good moment to talk about the goalkeepers at Liverpool,” he said. “I am absolutely satisfied with our goalkeeping situation. I am sorry to kill your stories about German goalkeepers and goalkeepers from Stoke.

“We are not looking for another goalkeeper. We have enough high-quality goalkeepers, I’ve had a lot of goalkeepers over the last few years and Simon Mignolet is one of the smartest I have ever had.

“He is completely open and he’s young enough to develop, to improve. He’s not had the easiest situation before I came here, but since I have been here there has been nothing to criticise, absolutely nothing. He’s a good football player.

With a settled defence in front of him maybe Migs will come good? The defence was shocking for the entirety of Rodgers reign at Liverpool, we might just see him improve shocked

Yep. Even Lovren is looking decent these days, our defenders were never suited to a 3 at the back formation.
