Henderson has always been one of those "so what does he actually do?" kind of players.

However I have felt for a while he is absolutely one of our most important players, even if, I don't know why?!

"That" year, when we almost won the league, we ended up spanking arsenal and then losing to them in the cup, the difference? Hendo didn't play in the cup.

The last few games he was suspended, and we completely went to [oops], coincidence?

I also felt at the beginning of this season, we only looked good when he was playing(pre klopp of course)

Of course this is all based on my observation, and backed up by my patchy memory, I haven't seen any stats to say we are better with him! Maybe having Milner the work horse negates the loss slightly?

I was just wondering what you lovely lot think?

I think he'll be a step up from Can, so he will improve the team as a whole (not that I don't rate Can, but Hendos just the more complete player at the minute)

The last couple of games of "that" season Hendo was either suspended or injured (can't quite remember) but had he been in the team I think our chances of winning the leaugue would have been greater. I'm certain he missed the Chelsea match - those 3 points dropped alone would've made the difference... who knows..

I think he'll thrive under Klopp as he has the engine for it - be interesting to see who makes way and where Klopp will play him... probably take a few performances but will be good to have him back.

Hendo is perfect for klopp high pressure game...


Milner get ur arse on the bench.....I wud sell Milner in the summer....he's on crazy wages....and won't get much game time next year

G, I think you have actually happened to stumble onto something vital there!

I would replace Milner with Hendo.

But selling Milner in the summer would mean we need to get a similar player in, who have about the same characteristics. Don't think that is a primary focus area tbh. Just get Hendo fresh and we're hopefully sorted in the mid field work horse department.

I wouldn't sell Milner at all - absolute crazy talk G!

As for his wages, we got him on a free so it just means his transfer fee drips weekly into his pocket instead of a lump sum going to City - what's the difference?

I'd have another look at Milner at the end of next season and take it from there, but as it stands he's a top quality member of the squad and we have a mammoth number of games to churn through - not the type of player to flog off considering the squad we have at our disposal.

Klopp will bring in at least 3 midfield players iin total jan, in the summer....


Milner will have limited game time, he came to lfc to play week in week out under brodge....

I like Milner, I think he's under rated, and very useful.

Having said that, I do think he lacks that last bit of quality and is frustrating at times. When the ball is rolling towards him, he runs up to the ball and shapes up like Stevie G, to spoon the ball over, and into orbit- leaves me feeling like poking him in the eye with a sharp stick!

However, we shouldn't let those annoying moments completely override the good work he does, winning the ball or pressuring players into mistakes.

I like Milner too, very similar to Henderson though so I'm not keen on them both playing. Henderson had most assists for us last season and chipped in with goals, scored more than Coutinho and Sterling in the league. It surely has to be Can's place he takes. Just need a really good defensive midfielder to play alongside him, so just the 1 midfielder needed to be bought in my opinion, unless somebody leaves.
