Muj you've either got a sense of humour or you havent. I've made my own conclusion.

The following is definite:

* Liverpool will pay £18m for Aquilani.

The following is highly probable:

* £2.2m will become payable as a result CL qualification/appearance levels

* £450k (or whetever fee we get for him) will become payable when Aquilani is sold. (This figure is just for the sake of debate - I'm not saying this WILL happen!)5% of any amount he is sold for, must be paid to aquilani.

The following is less probable but still possible:

* £1.8m will become payable as a result of winning the league/CL

A return to Italy? It seems a journalistic shot of the British tabloids," Zavaglia told Tuttomercatoweb.com. "I don't know anything, because Alberto is well in Liverpool.

"There is talk of Juventus and Fiorentina but the Bianconeri have to define the structure of the club before thinking about the market.

"Equally, Fiorentina has the issue of Cesare Prandelli to resolve.

"Aquilani has recovered well from his ankle injury and for this reason I think Liverpool won't get rid of him."

For sure, we have to pay for him. His agent denies he is up for sale. But either way i think we got take into consideration that if he is sold, LFC will add our own provisions into the deal, like Roma added to us.

for e.g. 1 Million each time the purchaser qualifies for champions leage
1 million each time the purchaser win the champs leage/league
500k each time aqulani playes 30/40 games etc

there are other provisions too, i dont know it all. I know in torres contract for example, each time torres scores 30 goals, Lfc must pay Athletico 300000 pounds. And also if each time we qualify for champions league/or he makes appearances etc.

This still does not justify if rafa were to sell him for 10 million, but his agent denies it anyways.

yes, so we end up in a similar situation as we did with crouchie when we sold him.

Is that one of the reasons we bought Johnson for so much because they owed us money on the crouch deal?

I believe Aquilani will come good and I also believe that we might sign Banega as well. If we kept Aquilani one more season we would at least get our money back.

but could we wait one more year?

i doubt we ever sell him for such a high price, unless he turns out to be a world class player like xabi was.

English players tend to cost much much more that say for example south american players. I think in the first few years rafa was complaining of the price of english players. Thats why i think the club is trying to grab the kids when they are young. So johnson fee is also high cos he a english player. I mean 17 m for Johnson and 22 mill for torres? not mush diff in price
