Alonso and Mascherano were just below world class in my view. Steven Gerrard was truly world class. He had everything and at his peak you wouldn't swap him for another midfielder in the world.

It could also be argued that Alonso and Mascherano improved when they left us (which used not be the case) Xabi peaked at Real not with us and Masch reinvented himself at Barcelona, something that maybe only 'world class' players could do in the first place.

How did we go from alonso Gerrard Mascherano, hamann to what we have now Coutinho, Firmino, Hendo and Lucas would probably beat them guys in a 4 vs 4 Honestly. I think everyone is now a little dumber just for reading one of your posts. I can feel my I.Q dropping the more of your posts I read.

I can think of plenty of players I would have happily swapped him with. He was not world class. It's only some blinded LFC supporters who share that view point that Gerrard was really that good, he wasn't, it was pure myth.

Also I wouldn't call the Hendominator "uninspiring", I personally can't wait til Hendo gets back into the side as I think he'll give us a nice boost. I thought he was outstanding last season and could be a key component in a top four this season if we are so to achieve it.
