I'm sure this point has been made already, but our first 7 away games are against last year's top 5 teams plus Everton and Stoke. Therefore, if we can come through that then we should have a great chance of putting a run together in the second half of the season.

Every game is unforgiven in this league. Just look at what Bournmouth did to us. We shouldn't rely on the second half of the season because the games there are no easier. Its a tough first few games but we need to grind results out especially at Anfield.

You need around 2 points per game to get CL. So ideally from 14 games you'd want to have 28 points.
I think given the run of fixtures, 24-25 would be a good total for us to have at the end of those 14. We'd still be in touching distance and have a run of 'easier' games.

We currently have 7 from 3 games, meaning to hit 24, we need another 17 points from the remaining 11 games. Just 1.54 points per game. Even if we just won all out home games and lost all out away games, we be over that mark, so we've put ourselves in a good position, but we need to push on and keep it going.

The old cliche one game at a time, West Ham next who were brilliant away from home but awful at home. I think they are there for the taking, manager seems a bit Dicanio to me. But we have to get out wide against them so maybe going back to 4-2-3-1 .

Playing tough games away first might be a blessing in disguise, they not up and running yet. Utd our next away game and they will most likely be trying something new with a new striker.

We had very similar fixtures 2 years ago. We played Arsenal Spurs Man City Everton and Chelsea away during end of Oct through to end of December. Mixed bag of results but we got enough to challenge.

The trick this season with this squad is to keep a threat on all fronts. Europa League and League cup must be used to develop the squad properly instead of just chucking players in because they need game time.

The epl is so unforgiving and no one can 2nd guess any results against any of the teams..,

Anyone can beat anyone... Form goes out the window ..,

One game at a time and lets just keep picking up points and let other teams worry abt us...

After last nites impressive performance from the players especially 1st half , brodge & his assistants near perfect game plan ..

Am slightly confident for a top 4 finish

i wud b more confident if Lfc signed a natural DM , right sided mid/winger & a quality striker

It's looking good so far but it's still too early. We'll have a much better idea of where we are after 10 games. It would not be a surpise if we draw vs West Ham and lose at united and then we're back to square 1. Then again we're capable of winning both. The fact that we have learned to defend gives me a lot of confidence. That first half vs Arsenal the balance of the team was perfect.
