So much more solid that last yr and Benteke suits us.
Skrtel was monster tonight, Gomez is just amazing at 18 -like signing an 18yr Maldini. Coutinho looks ready to take the prem by storm - firimno very very promising...signs are good for a good season.

I'd agree with that. Still very unsure about Benteke though. We need Sturridge back if we're to have an impact.

I'd agree with that. Still very unsure about Benteke though. We need Sturridge back if we're to have an impact. I also have reservations about benteke he is ok but not in the class of sturrage I've been really impressed with him, he was feeding off scraps in the second half but he is a beast and wins balls that he has no right to, he has great feet too. We need to learn how to mix up our play and get the best out of him but for me he has huge potential.

Agree with Darcus on this one. Wish we were in for Berahino or Lacazette. I think Benteke is an honest player but we need someone more in the style of Suarez if we're ever going to really compete at the top. If we have to put 10 behind the ball every time we play someone from the top 4, we're going to struggle. To me, Benteke's arrival reminds me of what we had with Heskey, under Houllier. I want to see us pressure times like we did with Suarez in the side.

If we have to put 10 behind the ball every time we play someone from the top 4, we're going to struggle. To me, Benteke's arrival reminds me of what we had with Heskey, under Houllier. I want to see us pressure times like we did with Suarez in the side. I think we have a good combination of forwards.....2 big and quick with Benteke and Origi and then mobile and tricky with Sturridge and Ings. Getting Sturridge fit is vital though as he is quality.

Benteke has 1 goal in 3 games, that was the same record he had at Villa.
Firmino is a class act but is being played in the wrong position and will almost definitely lose his place once Lallana is fit again.
Coutinho is still the same player he was last season, has a world class game followed by a few Mediocre games.
GomeZ is a good player, but his dirtiness worries me, I think we will see him with a 1 match ban soon enough as he's racking up the fouls and cards.

The difference being that Owen worked ridiculously well with heskey, Rodgers is leaving Benteke isolated with no one supporting him, once Sturbridge is fit, Rodgers will drop Benteke, until Sturbridge is injured again.
