I can't believe some people have rated Hendo above 5. as much as I love the guy and he's come on leaps and bounds he has serious restrictions to his game. apart from energy and the now and again good ball he struggles when the going gets tough and lacks composure in difficult situations.

When Can came on you could see the difference in quality and you don't need to be no football expert to know that. Expected more from Ibe but seems he was struggling a bit today.

My MOM was Clyne we've been crying out for a solid RB and he is one. good runs from the wing, and solid in the tackle.

So happy we beat the potting [oops], they thought they were going to turn us over again

the posters puttting 1 as a rating are a joke .

So those who continually got pushed off the ball, did nothing and were substituted deserve what exactly Faz? I didn't bother with the ratings but your likes of Lallana deserved exactly that by my reckoning.

But perhaps this is what we need to do more. Many a tight game is decided by a moment of brilliance. We didn't let Stoke have much really. I would be concerned about trying to shut out the likes of Arsenal and Scumchester with Milner and Henderson in the middle because two men can only run so much.

Someone needs to get closer to Benteke or run on ahead because he can be devastating with knocK downs and flick ons.

I like Can and would start him every game but he is still young and has time on his side. He definitely made an impact when he came on because we started looking like the home side.

I think a midfield containing Can and Milner gives you more than Hendo and Milner. That's going to be a headache.

Saying that, it's not always easy to see the contribution of a player when you are watching on a screen.

I thought the team looked much more 'together' than they have in the past. That's a positive. I think we need to put another player alongside Benteke if he's not going to end up isolated.

I want to see more of Firmino.

Don't think we should play the same team for all games, depends whether we need to be more or less defensive

There are some good posts in this thread. Not sure how much we can read into this one performance and that's not meant as a negative. Did we play to plan like this (where Chelsea certainly do and get the results when needed) or was it just that Coutinho made it look like a great tactical afternoon that was just lucky?

Actually even if it had been the draw I can't remember too many games under Rogers like this where we have stood up to very hard teams away, matched the work ethic and physicality and come away the victor.

It would be nice to think that he will set us up a few more times like this when necessary, and we come away with similar results. Definitely positive and a new angle to our play for me. The fact he is willing to play young guys for full games that aren't phased is also encouraging. Both Ibe and Gomez looked very good with such little experience.

Definitely, we were way too predictable last season so hopefully BR is realising at last that there are different ways to play football. Obviously we can't score a wonder goal every week so we do need more support for Benteke though! He was very isolated for the majority of the game yesterday.

Yes, and that's why I think we should start something like this next Monday at home against Bounemouth:

--------Mignolet---------

Clyne-Skrtel-Lovren-Gomez

-----------Can-----------
...Henderson----Milner---

--Firmino------Coutinho--
---------Benteke---------

Let the midfield 3 take care of defending, and let the forward 3 work together against the Bournemouth defence!

Yes really. £25 million, has done nothing in competitive matches and was substituted. What's he worth as a 1-10?

He's the most ineffective player we have in the squad at an insane value with more to do to improve than any member of the team. Even Lovren looked OK yesterday.

You carry on being the KopTalk excuse maker for mediocrity all you like but that is by far up to now the biggest waste of £25 million in 4 years and a 1-4 rating is entirely justified. I'm praying he comes good because we'd get Balo money for him as is- shrapnel but it looks a woeful purchase at present, woeful.
