Yeah it was like that, although under Hodgson it is going too far the other way.

Tex got two proper games and got 3 assists, discounting the 40 yard shot he got in that impromptu game. Makes things happen and we need to see more of him. I've barely seen any of Ilori so I really don't know but he does seem to have constant injury issues which doesn't bode well especially for a centre half.

Two proper games is pushing it a bit, he only got 45mins in the first game and only came on in the Swindon game because of injury to Joe Allen.

Paid eight million for him and weren't England trying to get him to commit his future? Not sure I've ever seen him play for us.

Tex also got another assist for the Benteke goal against Swindon so I think we will see more of him as time goes on. As for Ilori, wouldn't have a clue because he's been unsighted!

Watched texiera for quite a bit - He's not the quality we require right now and for his game to develop he should move one cause it's clear he's not going to get a chance infront of any of our attacking mids! Regarding llori I feel sorry for the guy plays well for the Portuguese U21's but won't even get a chance in a pre season game for us - writings on the wall for him

3 assists and a goal from 40 yards out show that he can make goals. His all round play is superb. He drives at defenders with the ball and his creativity makes everyone around him look better. If he doesn't stay and get chances I'll be furious, as I am with the Manquillo treatment.
