I was excited by ibe and sterling together. Those two on either wing would have been great this season.

Saying that, sterling at least has some experience. Seems quicker. Trickier and has 2 years in the premier league despite being I think. A bit younger.

Ibe is just built like a tank. Has an absolute hammer of a shot. Left or right. He is strong quick and can actually play up front or on the wing. Sterling cannot finish.

I'm more excited by Ibe.

If Man City were just buying to fulfil the English player quota they could have signed Ibe for a lot less, probably 20million, a lot of fans, pundits, ex players also think Ibe will be a bigger player than Sterling.

He has excelled in pre season, returned early to train with King Kenny, model professional. I believe Man City signed the wrong English young player from us.

Ex players and pundits nearly to a person all think Sterling has more potential. Quite rightly at this stage. City bought the right player as Sterling will more likely add value to THEIR team immediately. Ibe is more right for us as we don't have any top players really.

correct.

We saw £'s and £'s sterling play well for one season.....alongside a certain player that made the whole squad perform out of their skin....LUIS.

He's average at best.
Ibe is better imo.

Good riddance to that breath of bad air.

You couldn't be more wrong paul, Ibe may have a bit to go to reach his full potential, but he's already better than Sterling and has much greater potential than Sterling has. I really hope both of them remain injury free and the proof of their relative abilities will be there for all to see.

Actually I think your wrong on this occasion, you cannot say a player like Jordan Ibe who has less than 20 Premiership games under his belt is a better player than a full international with nearly 3 full seasons of top level football under his belt.

Don't get me wrong, I think Sterling is over-rated and Ibe has huge potential but saying that Ibe is the better player as of now is wrong.

No Chris I don't think I'm wrong. Just because Sterling has played more games and is an England international doesn't make him better than Ibe. Andy Carroll has played more games than Ibe and is an England international, is he better than Ibe? Balotelli has played more games than Ibe and is an Itlay international, is he better than Ibe?

Comparing Ibe who is a winger to centre forwards like Balotelli and Carroll is pointless and doesn't make any sense.

There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that at this moment in time Ibe is a better player than Sterling, none at all. The lad has played 14 games for Liverpool, thats it. He has potential yes and hopefully he will go on to be top drawer but as of this moment in time, Sterling is a better player and way ahead in terms of development.

I was making the point that playing more games and being an England international is not a reliable indicator of a players quality, and I think it stands.

Well it is, if you aren't a good player you don't get picked to play international and club football regularly do you?

Sterling has played at international level and scored and carried us at times when he was arsed, whilst Ibe was playing in division one and scoring against some unknowns in pre season.

Ibe looks like a player, but you cannot say he is better than sterling as he has not proven he is so far. It's all speculation at the moment.
