Still no announcement. This is very strange... If his medical was today and/or yesterday in London, and they still need to go to Melwood to do an interview with him and take some pictures, it probably won't be announced until tomorrow. ?? do you mean like a job interview?! Completed deals get announced well in advance of the the player wearing a a club shirt and waving a scarf with Ian Ayre . No they don't. The only times when that has happened is when we have agreed to sign a player in advance (like when we signed Emre Can before the transfer window had opened). Brendan probably has had a chat/informal interview with him. But I meant an interview for fans to see when he joins. I have have a feeling your just trying to wind me up. Like the way that you try and wind everyone up with your unreasonable defence of the the indefensible Brendan Rodgers and Joe Allen? As much fun as that sounds, I'm above that type of thing. Deals generally get announced well before any interviews. You don't know what you're talking about.

Likely to be announced tomorrow, the Benteke move. Both will start their training tomorrow. The quintet of Ilori, Can, Coutinho, Benteke and Firmino will all be back in training officially for the coming season.

I wonder what the opinion of Emre Can would be if he was Joe Allen but played liked himself? Most people's opinions would be 100 times harsher. Why? Because Joe Allen isn't as fashionable.
This doesn't make any sense, if Joe Allen had shown half the ability of Emre Can in his time at Liverpool he would be a fans favourite. The majority of Liverpool fans I know and I include myself in this bracket do not rate Joe Allen, its nothing to do with him being a fashionable name, more to the fact that he quite clearly is not good enough.

As for Allen, I do rate him, but I must admit I have grown to be more and more detached from him being capable of playing for us. The reason, I fear, is that his talent doesn't match his consistency. He is talented, but far too inconsistent. So inconsistent that most fans see past his inconsistency and see it as his regular skill level. He is a tidy and hard-working player that can have a role at the club, so long as he is happy being used in the lower-end games where he does play well, and occasionally from the bench when BR might see him as a fresh set of legs capable of facilitating the team in breaking down teams higher up the field. Until he improves his capability in performing regularly, that is.

Hope they get the whip out and put them through their paces with a vengeance! “there’s much work to be done” said a rueful Rodgers after Stoke Struck Six! The question is: is there "much work" being done? Seems to me its a pretty leisurely jaunt round the flesh pots of Asia and the southern hemisphere generally, the pis* pots’ll probably return jacked, while those at home do the London circuit!!

Benteke’s arrival had been expected to be confirmed by the Reds on Tuesday afternoon but it may now not be announced until Wednesday
