It all seems like it could go either way. IF Markovic, Lallana, Lovren come good, IF Firminio settles quickly, IF we sign a class striker, IF Strurridge stays fit (ish).
We'll need several things to go our way to get back into the CL. BR needs to get the best out of these players, which is by no means a poor squad.

How about Stoke then? We only had a goal difference of +1 over them last season, so I wouldn't jest! stoke are gonna batter us again.BR could be gone after 3 games cause arsenal gonna toy with us again. we have signed zero tough players and we are the flimsiest team in the league anyway.

On paper Liverpool should finish 5th next season in my opinion. If we can get a striker to score goals and put together a good run of form then there's bound to be chance to finish top 4 as at least one of the teams will make several blips.

If we get a top striker, we'll finish 5th because the top 4 are miles ahead of us. If we don't get a top striker, we'll come 5th because there really isn't any other competition. Under those circumstances, why would FSG splash out £30m+ on a player if it isn't going to make enough of a difference?
