Surely if we were going to pay the release clause, we would have already and just been done with it. I imagine £20m-£25m will be the final valuation, wouldn't be too surprised if a player was included to make up the other £7.5m, perhaps Borini. You wish to sell the prolific Borini, has the world gone mad, why not throw in the stellar Balotelli when you are at it.

There are rumours Villa are in for Lambert, maybe we can do some sort of swap deal to make up some cash? 15m-20m + Lambert?

It's true that our choices are limited as Rodgers cannot attract top names and FSG won't pay the premium to attract players to a non CL team.
Rodgers can attract big names. But we don't want big European names. We want highly talented players that can be developed the Rodgers way to become better players. We want players who would put their egos to one side, buy into our project and put their life and soul into their performance on the pitch. Think Countinho, Sturridge, the list goes on.

Rodgers can attract big names. But we don't want big European names. We want highly talented players that can be developed the Rodgers way to become better players. We want players who would put their egos to one side, buy into our project and put their life and soul into their performance on the pitch. Think Countinho, Sturridge, the list goes on. No, the list stops more or less may be with Can, unless of course you want to add Borini, Aspas, Alberto, Markovic, Ilori etc. These players are ready to buy in our mid table team project unlike Sterling and Suarez for example. No big player would wish to work with unknown Rodgers unless they are given loads of cash to compensate.

What about Doumbia? Apparantly not settled at Roma, and has been linked with a move to Watford?! Would be a much cheaper option and he has a great goal scoring record. May struggle to make the switch to the PL but would be a lot cheaper gamble than Benteke

I'm not a massive fan of Benteke and I think we'd be mad to pay the release fee but at least he knows the EPL and has shown he can do well in it with a poor team around him. We don't need to be taking anymore punts than we already have.

Funnily enough their clubs have listed them all for sale at £30m.

I'd take Benteke, he's a striker who scores goals in the Premier League and we're desperate for one.
