I don't know much about this chap and don't really give 2 shittes what he's done in the past as long as he helps improve us. Why not just sit back and see what happens instead of writing him off as a failure straight away? (I know it's not the 'Liverpool way' anymore!) Agreed, Wilki.

I just don't get what people expect for an assistant / coach. Just because he was a 'bad' manager doesn't mean he'd be a bad assistant. And when you look at his managerial record, although it's not impressive, it's not as bad as Spicey, the Rodgers hater lets not forget' has made out with his very one sided report.

Bill Shankly That's brilliant news, we have the new Bill Shankly lads. We will be a force again the Liverpool of old winning everything in sight. Such a technically gifted coach with a outstanding track record in BR we trust.
noun [oops]·trar·i·an \kən-ˈtrer-ē-ən, kän-\. If all else fails say that word outstanding a couple of times. The more you do the more you will believe your own spin.

Neither did I about Pascoe or whoever was Hodgeson's assistant or Paco when he came. Who should we be getting as a top assistant? My point is, that just because he didn't do too well as a manager doesn't make him a bad coach and and a lot of good coaches are relatively unknown to the public. It just p!sses me off that people in here just write anyone off before they've even joined us! I thought it was just exclusive to players but it now seems anyone is fair game.

I don't think it's a case of writing him off. I just think a lot of people will see him as no improvement. Either way, we will find out soon enough what he is made of and like BR he is going to have to hit the ground running next season. Like you, I have never heard of him, but his CV is far from impressive. But let's wait and see what he brings to the club.

I don't see what everyones gurning about, of course its a step up, the guy has actually been a manager before unlike Pascoe.
Who did you's expect as an assistant manager? A sentimental appointment like Fowler, Carra or Hyypia?
