Apparently, Sean O'driscoll looks set to take over as assistant manager. I don't know much about him so I have haven't got much to comment on about this news. Is he any good do you think?

One thing that did strike me though is that he was probably selected by Rodgers rather than FSG. Rodgers has previously said O'driscoll is one of the best coaches in England or something along those lines so this clearly suggests that it was Rodgers who chose him or at least had a large input in the selection.

So maybe he's not this puppet or 'yes' man like a lot of people insinuate.

May be it was Rodgers who decided to part with his assistants in the first place.

So Rodgers may not be a dead man walking after all.

Yay! Rodgers picked someone all by himself. That is fantastic. Good boy Brendan.

So BR's not a yes man. Which means he also picked his team the first time round. When the going got rough and tough, they got fired while he's apparently safe and gets to pick another support team for himself.
Well done BR

Rodgers also highly rates Pascoe. O'driscoll is worse than him, this is an utterly embarassing appointment.

Doncaster, Bristol City, Crawley Town, Nottingham Forest - Liverpool. Work that one out.

I could understand if he achieved the impossible throughout his career, had his teams playing fluent attacking football and ripping teams to shreds, great in the transfer market and medals to prove it, but he doesn't.

He has no pedigree whatsoever.

He played tiki taka football at Doncaster which resulted in a boring brand of football and lots and lots of draws. After being promoted to the Championship, he had Doncaster fighting against relegation with 1 win in 19 in the latter part of the season, the next season he had given up completely before being sacked in September with Doncaster back at the foot of the table with 1 point out of 21.

He then got a demotion and became a coach at Forest.

He then got a break and got a chance at Crawley, before ditching them after 2 months when the Forest job became available.

He spent [oops] loads of money and signed most of his former players from Doncaster. 5 months later he was sacked.

He took over Bristol City in January, when they were in the Championship relegation zone, they ended up being relegated to League 1. The following season he was sacked in November with Bristol city at the bottom of league 1 having won 2 out of 18 games.

His transfer record is [oops] poor, which usually results in him raiding his former clubs, spending loads of money and not getting results. Bristol City had the biggest wage budget in the league, yet they were looking likely to be relegated again.

His brand of football is absolutely dire, he likes to attempt to pass the opposition to death, but it has never worked for him. Bristol City fans said it was the most boring style they had ever watched.

His interviews were often dreary and embarassing. Blaming everyone else apart from himself. Bristol City fans said he was delusional and lived in a fantasy world.

He fell out with most of the players at the clubs he's managed. Some Bristol City fans I know said that the players couldn't be bothered with him.

We are essentially getting a Rodgers clone.

It now means to me that BR had a hand in the sacking of Pascoe. If he admitted in making mistake by appointing them and appoint better personnel than great, but this one doesn't make sense at all. FSG wants a yes man, they have BR. BR wants yes men he had Pascoe and Marsh, now Driscoll, i guess now one wants people with bigger personalities than themselves.

Well I doubt he would have much/any input in recruitment. He won't do that many interviews as assistant either. I've seen one of his interviews on YouTube and he acted very strange at times. But we shouldn't judge a manger on that.

He might try and imitate Rodgers but he hasn't got the pedigree to be a Rodgers clone.

You don't need pedigree to be a Rodgers clone.
