i think most pundits would say he was the best right-back in the league last year

mirrors the threat that moreno poses going forward on the opposite side

we now have 2 very capable full backs going forward, certainly excited to see how they get on

lets just hope they can defend too

Clyne can defend, whereas Moreno doesn't seem properly up to that task!

As long as he can deliver the perfect cross on the regular, to feed our strikers than i'd be happy with him too.

He played the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 European Qualifier victory over Slovenia this month, and has gone on to make four international appearances.

Does this mean he's cup tied for that Europa cup comp thing then?

You're mixing international football with clubs. Entirely different apples or coconuts in your case. He won't be cup tied.

Can he actually defend as a defender? Some are saying he is very similar to Johnson?

I think he's an improvement on Glen Johnson although that may be viewed by many as not being that difficult. Having pace at full back is a key attribute for the way we play and he seems to have that in abundance. I like him going forward but need to be convinced by his defensive capability. Having said this I do think that we way we set up sometimes makes our defenders look worse than they are as we are so easy to play against.

Like in Chess you have to control the centre else you’re exposed. Playing wing backs with three central defenders leaves you light in the centre, hence the being easy to play against for teams that like to storm through the middle, and we saw that last season. If Rodgers wants to continue with that setup he needs a very competent and aggressive set of forward/attacking players. So he needs at least one Suarez type goal getter with Sturridge fit and firing, neither are with us yet.
