While enduring a very poor season last year, you have to be impressed with our summer transfer dealings.
Bogdan - A lot better than Brad Jones, who he has replaced in the squad.
Milner - Adding class and work rate to our midfield, effectively replacing the over the hill Gerrard of last season, again a upgrade on the defensive midfielder Gerrard who played for his in his last season.
Ings - Probably a upgrade in the squad of either Borini or Lambert.
Joe Gomez - Highly rated youngster, apparently wanted by Dortmund and Arsenal, many Charlton fans think if given a chance next season he will become 1st choice.
Firmino - Star quality, again possible upgrade of Sterling if he leaves.
Clyne - Definate upgrade of Glen Johnson, Manquillo at right back.
All in all we are buying better players than the guys they are replacing.
Continuous Improvement.

Yeah I’ll give you that Merlin, but they’re only one step up on the last two summer signings and we needed several steps up, we need a couple or three proven top quality players, and so far we haven’t got them. Ok I’ve been readiong up on Firmino and it’s all good, but he’s still just a promising prospect, he may take to the PL and make the step up, or he may not. So If I were you I would’nt be counting my chickens just yet...none have hatched!

Milner is proven. One of City's key players for a few years, a leader and consistent. Firmino is perhaps an unknown in the prem, but he's definitely quality and a very good signing. Clyne is prem proven, and was one of the best right backs in the league last year.

Bogdan - Needed someone to challenge Mignolet. He won't.
Milner - The only "role" in our midfield that didn't need reinforcements.
Ings - Totally unimpressed with what I've seen so far. Think Berahino looks a lot better and frankly I don't think he was needed. Would have been happy with Sturridge, Origi and someone top level.
Joe Gomez - He's 18 and not at all what was needed. Just praying he's amazing and makes a difference soon. Hopefully not Ilori mkII.
Firmino - Fantastic player, cant fault the club on this one. Hopefully it keeps Coutinho happy and he stays for a while longer.
Clyne - Absolutely pointless for me. Defence is our issue and yet we sign an attack minded full back that's a lesser defender than the young Spanish lad on loan, what's the point?
Once again I think it's too many new faces and I'm unimpressed but give me a quality striker and it'll do.

Yes thoroughly agree with all points except may be not Gomez becoming 1st choice.
When managers are under pressure and people are calling for his head, what do you do? sack him, give him a limited budget and hope he turns things around.
No, you give him twice as much money and twice as much support as ever before to prove all those Klopp fans boys and haters wrong.
Well done FSG for seeing sense. Let the Rodgers revolution begin!

Not yet, getting in early.
If we are backing Brendan and he's going from signing Firmino to Benteke then I'm just done. Not getting the best out of the funds once again. Premier league proven actually is pointless.

Well done FSG for seeing sense. Let the Rodgers revolution begin! As long as they don't turn up to be like Lovren, Markovic and Lallana, Moreno under Rodgers, ie, crap compared to what they were in their previous season.

Disagree. We needed a good RWB and knowing rodgers, we'll probably be playing a lot of 5-3-2 next season. Clyne would be a huge upgrade vs glen and manquillo. Pacy and can tackle. He would dominate the flanks. This will leave marko and Ibe free to play in other attacking positions.

I'll be very very surprised if we see a 3 man back line again.
