So just because we overpaid once we can use that as a benchmark and brush this amount off? What kind of thinking is that?

That thinking again.... Just because we are about to sell someone for a fantastic price it does not mean we can through half of it away for the sake of signing someone.

If I could have picked 4 players to bring in this window, Firmino would have been one of them, alongside Cavalho, Lacozette and Kovacic. Great signing, still can't believe we got him.

Sorry to kill the mood but 29m pounds seriously?? Why has the club not used that extraordinary amount to sign a world class out and out striker? He is a good signing don't get me wrong but this obsession with signing multifunctional players will only hurt us. I mean how many more AM/ Wingers do we need? We have 6 players fighting for 2 or 1 positions on the pitch. I like him but sorry that price is extraordinary. I've heard the transfer fee isn't £29million up front but £22million with additional add-ons that could take it to £29million. I'd say that all in all, it's not a particularly bad deal, especially considering we want £50million for Sterling, now that price is extraordinary.

No he's right though. It's a lot for a position we don't really need, despite him being a very good player.
I'll be very pleased if we bring in someone like Bacca or better in the striking role that'll get in behind but disappointed if this is supposedly our striker signing.
Given up on hope of seeing a DM come in.
