Just popped over to Blue moon forum and checked out what they have to say about spending 50m quid on the vile rat.
- They're of the opinion that the rat would be messi-like when he peaks in a few years' time.
- Most of them think that it's a fantastic deal for a 20 year old. Assuming he plays 10 years for them, it's ONLY 5m quid a year. Cheap as chips.
- The difference between 40m and 50m is irrelevant. It's ONLY 10m quid. Why quibble over it?
Compare this with our basement bargain tesco buys in Ings, Milner, Gomez and Bogman. We'll probably spend the summer raiding more freebies.
By the way, we have a 20% sell-on fee due to QPR?

Sterling wants to win trophies with a club that has a serous chance in all competitions
Play for a manager that has won trophies and play alongside quality players and in a world class stadium ... Home games .....
Calling him a vile rat for that.....
I call it ambition

He's more likely to end up like Shaun wright Phillips than Messi. He's got potential but he's very inconsistent, currently has no end product and a very questionable attitude (laughing gas and all that).
The City fans probably only see the highlights of him on match of the day, and the occasional game. They don't watch him week in week out like we do, if they did I'm sure they wouldn't be so sure of him.
I'll be happy when he's gone if we get a good amount for him. He could become world class, but it's a massive risk for 50m

Man City don't have a chance in the Champions League as proved by their performance since they have participated in it. Is that Etihad Stadium really that much better than Anfield? It's newer yes but they don't fill it every week.

Brendan would not be impressed. He would insist 150% that Sterling is a nice lad and has always been good with him.

I said last season that he has the ability to be the first £100m player.
Since I said that he has shown his colours and now I believe he may yet reach that fee but he will never have the class of a great player.
Sterling may be the best of his generation but he is no world beater. He is never going to be the best English player as his £50m tag would have people believe.
Man City is just a desperate stepping stone for him. The sooner he goes the better. He is not a player that anyone could build a great team around. He will always be out for number one and will not play the long game.
Man City fans must be absolutely deluded if they think that this kid with a whole portion of chips on his shoulder is going to be the magic bullet.
Technically light years behind Paul Gascoigne with the heart of the cowardly lion and the attitude of a spoiled teenager. He will go on to do some good things but not £50m worth. He has not got it in him to live up to the expectations people will have of him.
We want our arses kicked around the globe if we don't take £50m when it gets offered.
