18 months ago Ayre travelled to Dnipro to sign him and offered serious cash. Now that the guy is available on a free and stating publicly that he wants to move to LFC we do not show any interest.
What in the owrld is going on at LFC when we would rather keep a mug like Sterling, sign the Bogdan's of this wold rather than be interested in a player like Kono?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBSGaakkUsc Compare this to what we have in Sterling which endless dribbles with no end product and he is free.

I'm a bit surprised I have to say. Like you say, he's free now so we don't have to give their arse of an owner any money so I thought we'd be right in there.

Liverpool were after him last January, before we qualified for the champion's league & then did't show any interest in him last summer, I had assumed that was because the level/quality of player we were able to attract had risen & we had better targets in mind. Seems I was wrong because half the players we signed were total gash & now Konoplyanka is on a free, seems strange that we've shown no interest. Maybe he's holding out for a club in the champion's league, or perhaps they've identified a better target in case Sterling leaves. I know that latter possibility is far from likely.

We have signed players in his position ( markovic, lallana and Ibe returning). That might explain why we are no longer interested.

Good point faz, but you could turn that question around and ask, if Kono isn't that good, why were we interested in the first place?

We were desperate for something and offered ridiculous money for him that he was not worth. Now no one big is moving swiftly to pick him up on a free, no surprise, we dodged a bullet and hopefully we spend wages on someone far better.
