I don't think anyone really believed he would be joining us, and TBH he is the ultimate football mercenary with the Chavs always his destination. Nonetheless:

Radamel Falcao: Chelsea on verge of loan deal for Monaco striker

By Dan Roan
BBC sports editor

Chelsea are on the verge of agreeing a season-long loan deal for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.

The 29-year-old, currently with Colombia at the Copa America in Chile, scored four goals in 29 appearances for Manchester United last season.
United rejected the chance to sign him for a reported £43.2m but now the Premier League champions have moved in.

Details of an agreement that would secure Falcao a second season in the top flight are still being finalised.

On Thursday, Mourinho responded to reports linking Chelsea with a move for Falcao by saying: "It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United."

Speaking to DirecTV Sports, the Portuguese added: "If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it."

Great replacement for Drogba. Good to have in CL too.

Loan deal for a quality player who will get the service at Chelsea all day. Their model has adjusted over the years and now shows a very clever and sensible way of operating.

They add quality additions when necessary, sell-off the odd gem at top money and have a good mixture of all types of buys.

LFC could do well to look at how to run a club from that.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

Definitely, they are one of the top clubs spending the least these days and looks like living within their means. That was due to FFP, not sure it will continue with UEFA relaxing the constraints. I think signing Falcao on loan is a good risk to take and chances are he will be successful under Mourinho.

It will certainly allow Costa to be his intimidating self again. Chelsea will still play the one up front but have once again got cover and very early in the window too.

I'd rather Chelsea be paying him nearly £300k a week for 4 goals than us!

Very true but this is another point for debate isn't it?
Is there anyone out there we should be going for and paying megabucks for?
