So what?

It's business.
Why be concerned about how much he is sold for?
The objective is to have a team of good players who have the spirit and faith to be winners.

Raheem is not part of the plan so he is sold for 40 pounds or 40 million pounds,.. if he doesn't want to play for Liverpool then so be it.

I can see City increasing their offer and a compromise figure of £40m will probably be reached. The trouble is, don't we have to give QPR 20% of any transfer fee?

We should take a lump sum (20% to qpr), include add ons, and take a player in PX thereby reducing the amount we lose to qpr.

Sterling has been brilliant at times. He's 20 for god's sake, he's not going to be consistently good all the time at his age. He is not second rate.

I never said he was.

Apart from a few dodgy months at the end of last season, he has been superb for us. People are letting their anger at him cloud their judgement on his ability. Consistency comes with experience and if he was at his best for 80% of the time he'd already be a world class player, and well worth the £50m that the club apparently value him at.

Top clubs don't sell their best players. It is their duty to persuade their top players to stay and attract new ones.


I can't imagine Fergie begging anyone to stay. He's made it abundantly clear he wants out so best to sell and move on.

Agreed. He has great situational awareness, finds space in close quarters very well, have seen him stop play and make delicious passes to teammates in better positions, he has a good footballing brain for someone just 20 and that's what the competition will pay for. As for his end product, you can always work on that. That said, his mind (or his agent's) seems made up. Get as much as we can for him and invest in a finished article, a footballer we can use now and save on the time it would require Sterling to become the finished product.
