Added a poll to see everyone's preferred formation (or tried) and want to know why you picked what you have.
In your preferred formation, from our current squad, who would be (if all players are fit, including Milner now) your starting XI and why?
What positions do you think need strengthening and why?
I don't want your wish lists or names of players you want to join etc. so try and stick to the topic and have a decent discussion regarding your opinions for this current team.

4-2-3-1
Mignolet Flannagan(RB) Skrtel (CB) Sakho (CB) Moreno (LB) Allen (CDM) Henderson/Can (CDM)
Lallana/Milner (RM) Countinho (CAM) Sterling (LM)
Sturridge (ST)
Improve right back (more experience), need another top striker (in case Sturridge gets injured) and back up keeper, could do with a holding midfielder as well (more bite in midfield)

I've gone for a 433
__________Mignolet Manquillo. Skrtel. Sakho. Moreno. ____________Allen ______Henderson. Coutinho. Sterling. ___Sturridge. __ Lallana. (Markovic/Ibe if Sterling leaves.)
I'd like to see an experienced quality striker. I wouldn't mind a young striker with high potential if we sort out the other striker. I think we need a solid, experienced defensive midfielder. I think we need a keeper to compete with Mignolet for the #1 spot though I wouldn't want us spending much in this position if it affects the other signings. We could use an experienced versatile full back to give knowledge to our plethora of young fullbacks and ease them into the side. Don't want to spend too much on this again. If I'm being greedy I'd like someone more creative in midfield to push Coutinho to the left of the front 3.

A 4-3-3 consisting of
2 marauding full backs on either side - Moreno and Clyne
2 good options in DM - Can and Lucas
Engine and creativity in CM - Milner, Henderson, Kovacic
Winger / inside forward - sterling and coutinho
And players who are actually capable of playing a false 9 role who can put the ball in the back of the net. Lone striker of - Sturridge, Vietto or Ings

I didn't agree with the signing in the first place. Fantastic if he would be happy with lower wages and a versatile squad place but not if he's guaranteed first team football.

The actual 'formation' is far less important than the ability of the players on the pitch, and what their individual instructions are. People read too much into the formation and think that makes them a tactical genius!
