cant agree more

Yeah, agree, can't get behind this one.
We have Sturridge who is awesome, despite his injuries.
Though, we could argue that Sturridge isn't even an option based on his record so that would leave us with Ings and Origi. Both have little to no experience and although Ings is "free" we still have to pay up to 5m compensation. Say we get Lacazette, is Ings good enough to be second fiddle to Lacazette? Not for me, furthermore, I think he would halt the progression of Origi and in my opinion, he has a much higher ceiling than Ings.

Personally, I think we should get someone very cheap with European experience to be 3rd choice after Sturridge and another top level striker.
Alexandre Pato is a available on a free and seems to have recovered from his injury problems.
Fernando Torres is finding form at Athletico and I think he'd welcome a move back to us personally.
Luiz Adriano is supposedly also available on a free.

If we don't get someone experienced then we have 2 options.
Either, we get someone in that we can see has unlimited potential like for instance Vietto and spend a little extra OR we go and take a risk on a young South American like that Jaime Baez and make Origi 3rd choice.

I've seen Ings a lot this season and he's just not good enough for me.

Yes lets show empathy and give him a chance and oh if he fails we give him a gold fking star for trying, its a flawed system. This club needs to grow a pair and be fking ruthless to succeed. I will not give this guy a chance because he is nowhere near the quality that this club needs.

Really? Burnley fan are you? Admit it, you just want a 'big name' - that's understandable. Well, I had reservations similar to you but he's actually a good player and a very good finisher with his head and both feet. 11 EPL goals in a dire team that finished bottom of the league is pretty good - it's more than anyone at our club managed last season anyway. He 'may' not be CL standard but neither are th rest of our squad. Progress will take time and Ings is a huge upgrade on Balotelli, Sterling, Lambert, Borini and injured Sturridge.

Give me Ings ahead of Origi any day of the week.

And what if he doesn't fail? He'd no doubt be your favourite player then ffs!

If only we can get players/wingers who can feed the strikers than our strikers won't look so average and useless.

And I mentioned b4 that Austin and Inge are available now I don't know an awful lot about either of them other than what you read tbh but out of the two on paper Austin looks far superior given we are badly in need of a scoring striker he did much better than ings as far as I can grasp in that respect so what is it we saw in ings that's not there with Austin now if we're buying him because he will suit our style and system then good but if we're buying him because he's cheaper then that is a poor show on our behalf from lfc that's my opinion

Bit of both I think. He will be cheaper and Ings is a bit more dynamic than Austin. Whereas Austin is probably considered more of a poacher or a finisher in and around the box, Ings will probably press the opposition defenders more and hold the ball up for others.

Goals have been our downfall ! someone that knows where the net is and as far as I can see austins been better , not that I'm a fan of either tbh but surly target the most productive striker given our dismal scoring record and there's no guarantee Danny will pick up the 20 or more we need from him so in the netting of goals department we looking extremely thin and wanting even with ings

Don't be worrying 60's the prolific Origi has arrived.

With Sicknote out half the season and likely to be the same next year we are about as danger as an overdose of smarties when it comes to our strikers.
