Seriously who thinks this inspires anything for next season?

What the manager has said

Rodgers has insisted Sterling is going to stay at Anfield while he hopes to sign a top scorer.

"We won't have the numbers coming in like we had last summer. If we can make a couple of specific signings that will hopefully give us a little boost," Rodgers said.

"We couldn't replace what was lost in the team last year. We've brought in some really good young players and they will improve and develop. Every team in the summer will look to improve again and we're no different."

This is an absolute train wreck. A little boost! Is this guy serious? There are at least 10 who need showing the door and he is talking like we need 2 or 3 to be challenging.

All we can hope for looking at that statement as any guidance for the summer window is we tread water. Enough to make your blood boil. The delusion as to how good he thinks we look in stark contrast to what we have become is breathtaking.

hes covering for the fact that fsg wont invest in tcp's

Not much to read. FSG don't care, Rodgers hasn't got the aptitude, he's in charge of transfers so more catastrophic wastes of money. Same again next year. Sacked either Christmas or next summer.

You're probably right Red and who do we unseat in the top 4 next season if we are going to repeat the same old game plan?

Chelsea?......No chance.
Man City?.....No chance.
Arsenal?......No chance.

Leaving Man U and they will be looking at World Class additions and whatever it takes.

5th place at best if BR can make it and 5th place from now until they sell-up that is the realistic expectations for the club now whilst all the fans are hoodwinked and conned with £60 shirts and some of the dearest tickets in the league.

We have a team full of potentials, including the manager. We don't even have proper players to built a team around. To top it all, our potential manager does not even have the potential to identify a good player, a committee does that for him, and badly. If you think the likes of Balotelli, Borini, Joe Allen and others in this list are the future Liverpool FC you seriously need to rethink how you use the word delusional. Our club is heading towards mediocrity.

You know what, I think a better business model for FSG is to take Brandon Rodgers and start a football academy, buy all the potentials they can scour in the would, develop them and sell on. Leave LFC in the hands of owners those who really want to compete for titles, who are willing to bring in proven players and managers.

No he’s not delusional, can you name a few of the “young ones who are improving”? most would think that our young players have actually regressed this season, so who is being delusional here? And since when is 4th place the nee-plus-ultra fot Liverpool Football Club? It’s not about who’s being delusional Red, it’s about who is having their ambition and expectations managed for them.
Any analysis of the quality of this squad as it stands will indicate that almost every position on the pitch needs strengthening and thats after 20 recruits and over 200m spent, under this policy. Its a pathetic situation and it needs to change. There’s no substitute for recruiting proven quality, and surely after years of prospect’s in quantity that should be obvious to all. If you dont want to believe my analysis read what Gerrard had to say about our squad needs and you can be sure he’d have a lot more to say in private.

So Mr. Rodgers doesn't seem to have any sense of urgency about this situation. He probably doesn't realize the extent to which he and his players have underachieved this season, nor do FSG unfortunately. If they're not that arsed about our present situation, then God help us all.

FSG are professional sports franchise people - and their members have millions tied up in the project. It's not a case of them not caring or deliberately destroying the club - it's a case of them having and sticking to a philosophy that they believe in, one that isn't working because football is so different from American club sports. They believe passionately in their model, which for a time looked like it wasn't working in their baseball management until they won the world series and surprised everyone. They believe they can do that again - they believe that they almost did this last year.

Cry as we may - I think us Liverpool fans have to recognise this fact. This management group would not have paid off our debt if they didn't care. They just have a different way of caring than the rest of us - and time will see them prevail in their methods or adapt to the sport.

I'd like to agree with you Kop because in the 12 or so years that they've owned the Red Sox the stadium and surrounding area has seen amazing economic growth and they've won the world series 04 07 and 13. But they are erratic, when they get it right they're a team to admire and emulate but when they get it wrong it can take them 2 or 3 seasons to correct it.
This is from yesterdays Boston Globe, the Globe is the cities most respected newspaper, funnily enough its owned by Henry.
