Taking this from the story in the International Business Times dated Tuesday although I am not sure how old these quotes from Rogers are.

Seriously who thinks this inspires anything for next season?

What the manager has said

Rodgers has insisted Sterling is going to stay at Anfield while he hopes to sign a top scorer.

"We won't have the numbers coming in like we had last summer. If we can make a couple of specific signings that will hopefully give us a little boost," Rodgers said.

"We couldn't replace what was lost in the team last year. We've brought in some really good young players and they will improve and develop. Every team in the summer will look to improve again and we're no different."

This is an absolute train wreck. A little boost! Is this guy serious? There are at least 10 who need showing the door and he is talking like we need 2 or 3 to be challenging.

All we can hope for looking at that statement as any guidance for the summer window is we tread water. Enough to make your blood boil. The delusion as to how good he thinks we look in stark contrast to what we have become is breathtaking.

So we finish two places below top 4 and you think the whole team needs replacing even the young ones who are improving. Delusional.

You my friend are the dictionary definition of the word.

We have a squad and 10 or more quite easily need to go.

Agree with you there, only the manager needs replacing. Lallana, Lovren, Moreno, Markovic and even Balotelli were much better before they started working under Rodgers, even you cannot deny this.

Those players were better the season before they were signed but Markovic and Moreno need time to adapt to English football, and it's also quite common for players to come in from lesser teams (like Southampton) and struggle. Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge have all played their best under Rodgers. I think the manager deserves one more season to prove himself and allow the younger players to settle.

Borini, Rickie Lambert, Iago Aspas (gone) Luis Alberto, Sebastian Coates and Jose Enrique, Gerrard (gone) Johnson (gone) Sterling very likely and Moreno nowhere near good enough. I'll add Balo as a 50/50 and Jones.

That's 11-12 without even trying but you'll probably say they need a little longer and all world beaters in the making.

In a perfect world it would be nice if most of those did go. I would like to keep Sterling and Moreno even though he's made mistakes. But getting rid of all of them and bringing another 8 or 10 in like you eluded to would affect the chemistry of the squad. And then there's the cost as well.

Sell a lot of the dead wood like you've listed, but I think we only need a right back, striker (or two) and midfielder who will put his foot in.

I fear it's going to be like Borini, Aspas, Alberto, Assaidi etc. Out of all his purchases only 2 did well, Coutinho and Sturridge and they didn't have to wait for a season. Actually, Coutinho and Sturridge were better in their first half season, so I am not holding my breath that Rodgers will improve anybody. Why is it that he never improved Borini and Allen?

This may indicate loss of confidence in rodgers by FSG and or they don't want to invest and it's financially optimum to keep the club as we are with rodgers managing the club on nominal basis partly because FSG cant arract a top manager and partly because they don't want one because they are quite happy as things are the liverpool fans will continue to bring in the cash because of history and the name

For how long can the history and name continue to bring in cash. I am personally not buying any merchandise until there is aturn around, Faz is regretting he bought his season ticket, without success this will get worse and they know about this.
