Looking at our squad is pretty bleak. Thought that we should look at who we should keep/sell (pending someone will actually want them)/give another year to prove themselves.

Don't think I have missed anyone important but that would leave us 14 players to start with - although Sturridge is always injured anyway. Owners need to show some intent to bring in quality players to support those we know can do better (ie Skrtel who was a shadow of the player he was in 2014)

So you want to keep one of Frances worst players? Origi got a rating of just over 4 out of a possible 10 for his performances last season. However the rest of our squad would probably fare no better so I suppose we might as well keep him since we spunked 10m on the worst player in France!!! Some prospect he is, same as all the rest of them. Well done the committee.

Can't argue too much with that other than the fact Lallana shouldn't get above a 5 and relative stats might be pulling Gerrard up from a 6 to a generous 7 in their post.

Manquillo higher than Johnson? Really? I know a lot of people like to have a go at Johnson but Manquillo has been far worse.

Origi named in the worst team of the year - the only reason why KopTalk ran with the story was because it heaps more pressure on Brendan. He's 20 for god sake.

And yes, Allen should be kept. For every player like Coutinho and Lallana, you need a Joe Allen to keep things ticking. If we sell players just because they havn't been great this season, then we will be in this transitional phase forever.

That's less than 5 out of 10 on average per player so I wasn't far off with my statement. Also you could argue that 6 for both Migs and Lallana is on the generous side considering their performances. But whatever about those two, a rating of less than 5 out of 10 on average for our squad should tell us all we need to know about our recruitment policy and performance. I would suggest it would qualify us for mid to lower position in the table.

Yeah I'd agree. I think Gerrard deserves a 6 for his efforts this season. Lallana deserves a 6 to me.

Clearly the squad is set up for a 4-2-3-1.

From our first XI, Johnson, Gerrard, and Sterling need replacing going into the new season - (looking like Montoya, Illarimendi and Salvio)

For our squad (which should be competitive in EVERY position...

Jones, Enrique, Lambert and Borini can all be improved upon (looking like Neto, Flanagan may be back, Origi and Ings)

Questions will be asked of the likes of Balotelli and Markovic and whether they can be used in that system. Lazar deserves that time, Balotelli deserves a chance of not being up top on his own to me too, but is certainly more disposable. I wouldn't be surprised if we loaned both out though. Lazar could be replaced by Konoplyanka on a free.

And then we have a squad which may still see Lucas leave as I think Milner is likely to be his more offensive replacement, and I still think we're one or two short. Certainly want a top class striker as Sturridge's injuries are a concern. Another midfielder would be a priority over a defender, as I think Coates and Llori can have an impact if given the opportunity.

With Aspas, Alberto, Wisdom we can certainly increase funding for other players.

Allen doesn't deserve to leave in my opinion. Balotelli deserves a proper chance with a strike partner. Little chemistry? Maybe of late, but not a true description for a team that still made two semi's and sixth place.
