Load of fuss about nothing. So what if he may/may not want to play his football elsewhere? Everytime a player wants to move on from LFC, the fans are up in arms as if he has 'betrayed them' or 'stabbed them in the back'. It won't be long now before someone comes out with the classic..."no player is bigger than the club"!
If players want to play on a bigger stage, who can blame them? It's their choice, not ours. It's our failings as a club that are the driving force, nothing else.
The only players I hold grudges against for leaving LFC are Michael Owen as he forced us into accepting a reduced offer due to letting his contract run down. Steve McManaman for leaving on a free when the club could have got a massive transfer fee for him. Fernando Torres for joining an arch rival in Chelsea!
I'd also say Mascherano to some extent, he pretty much forced through a move to Barcelona. He did however keep playing for the shirt until he left.
There are ways to handle an exit, Sterling has been a c***, as has his agent during the whole process and he hasn't turned in a good performance for LFC for a long time which hasn't helped.
Alonso, Arbeloa and Suarez left the right way and nobody holds it against them, they also gave their all for the club prior to leaving, something Sterling clearly hasn't done.
