Imagine if we appointed anyone apart from Klopp.

FSG would never venture into the UK again.

What makes you think that Klopp would want the job at anfield?

If I were him, I'd definitely think twice!

Everything about Klopp indicates he would want the job at Anfield.

Tapping the "This is Anfield" sign before the friendly vs Dortmund at Anfield last summer.

Comments made in the press that he wants to manage in England.

Other comments alluding to hid dislike of clubs which spend BIG BIG BIG money constantly.

The fact that Liverpool are a big name team in Germany, from Keegan joining Hamburg in the 70's, the Beatles playing small German night clubs back in the 60's and 70's.

Liverpool and Dortmund are 2 very similar clubs, both working class roots, both share the YNWA anthem.

No one has mention De Boer, wasn't he linked to the Liverpool job before and appears a solid manager.

Check out the Rafa article on the news page. Says he's a real possibility and that Klopp isn't sold on the 'project' just yet! No surprise there then. He probably doesn't want a bunch of nob heads telling him how to manage and who he should buy!

Now THAT IS THE major stumbling block for any potential replacement.
They're only going to want a 'yes man', that is willing to turn over at the click of their fat stubby yanky fingers, and 'ave their tummy tickled. mad

Perhaps but clearly the last 12 months are not acceptable for a club of Liverpool's stature or maybe they are ? The brand is still going strong and the fans are still giving money so maybe all is well ?

That rather depends if you are talking about our 'real' stature, or the 'cloud-cuckoo-land' stature of the club.

We are a club that has reached the CL once in the last 5 years - potential incoming signings see us a reasonable fallback option if a top club doesn't come in for them.

We are the best of the also-rans so finishing 5th is precisely where we should be. You can be disappointed that we're not near the top of the table if you like, but you cannot blame the manager when your unrealistic expectations don't bear fruit.

You're ASSUMING that FSG dictate strict transfer policies and you're ASSUMING that Dortmund don't operate under a similar method. Most european clubs use a 'director of football' or 'transfer committee' so I can't see that as being a reason for Klopp (or anyone else for that matter) to turn us down.

Well lets see where we finish it could 7th by the end and then not the best of the also rans either.

I just think that 5th was never intended by the owners after giving all that money. Also add the rubbish performances in Europe and the cup semi at villa its not been good.

We do need change and if klopp is free and wants to come he would be greeted by most with open arms
