I don't think we're better off now that brodge has had his three years, not at all. Last season was a belter thanks to Suarez, Even tho we finished lower in Kenny's last season I think he had us playing better than brodge has this term.... I think brodge has taken us back to the days of Hodgeball.

I've seen enough, the brodge can pack his portrait and do one.

I can not see the logic in dismissing Rodgers for this season, and not giving him credit for last. Putting it all on Suarez's form is way too simplistic (and a shade naive) to me. We were great and Rodgers deserves just as much credit for that.

If it was all down to quality of football, why did Rafa last so long? We hardly ever dominated games with him in charge.

The game is based on more than just one player, one tactic, or one small string of results. Just because the team has appeared to give up on fourth, doesn't mean Rodgers' is to blame. Credit where credit is due. He's had a good two years, and average year since he joined. Two semi-finals, a run of over 10 league wins on the trot, a record number of consecutive clean sheets, our first appearance in the CL for years and a title challenge with over 100 league goals isn't a bad return for a team that has struggled since Rafa left. Kenny did well in the cups and terrible in the league. That's how we should be comparing the two, not that he won a lame League Cup.

Admiring glances to other managers undermines the strength of togetherness in the club to be honest.

Actually our performance last year had a lot to do with Suarez who was involved in 51 goals and assists, almost 50% of goals scored. I think it would have been difficult even for him to repeat such a season especially the 1st half. He was the one who made us tick in front and Rodgers did help there by having a lot of attacking players around him. However, we lost the league because Rodgers couldn't sort out our poor defence. Suarez being the big difference is quite obvious if you analyse our current season. After spending all the Suarez money and 38m more, 4th was the minimum for any good manager, but we failed miserably and LVG, in his first season did better than Rodgers (looks like he needed less bedding time than Rodgers). We were unable to beat a poor Villa in one of the most important games of the season and don't tell me Tim Sherwood had better means than Rodgers. For me last season was a lucky draw for Rodgers thanks to Suarez, this kind of thing does happen like Roy Hodgson at Fulham before he came to us. From 2nd to 5th after losing only one player and spending a club transfer record of 115m is not the work of a good manager.

With one breath you lament the hypocrisy of those dismissing Rodgers and not giving him credit, then with the next you perpetrate that exact behaviour by giving him crazy credit without considering that which he deserves blame for (perhaps this is an attempt to balance out those who focus on the bad, but it undermines your entire post).

Suarez was the number one reason for our spectacular season last year, that is irrefutable and just a fact. Rodgers deserves credit for building a team around him, getting more out of a number of players, and pushing the team on even further. No one can take that away, Rodgers deserves some credit for last season.

Similarly however, Rodgers has one of the worst transfer track records we've ever had (I could also throw some stats at you about not winning a trophy in 3 years for the first time in our history etc in the manner you threw positive stats in his favour but I don't want to be here all day and I'm trying to construct a balanced post), he has had ONE good season not 2, and one season of absolute unarguable failure.

And just to examine the other point you made about Rodgers not being to blame for players giving up, is it usual for an entire team to suddenly look like they don't care? Is it not the coach/manager who's job it is to stop EXACTLY THAT from happening. People were happy to give him credit for the togetherness, spirit, and strength the team showed last season, due to his 'man management', yet when it's not there it has nothing to do with him??? Again this makes your post about hypocrisy incredibly hypocritical.

As I've said a number of times Rodgers has not yet shown if he is any good, neither has he shown that he isn't any good. His time here overall has evened out for the most part but there is one issue that tips the scale against him, and that is the irrefutable failure he has displayed time and time again in transfer windows. He has a record of about 1/2 in 10 of getting signings right. That's unforgivable with the money he has spent.

This is all the more important when you consider how FSG want to run the club. We more than any team in the (maybe they could get top 4 some day bracket) require a manager to get the most out of his money. To find gems, and add what the team really needs, as we won't compete for top players. Instead we have a manager who is one of the worst I've ever seen at buying a player. This is why, IF a definitively better replacement was in place, I would sack him when the season draws to a close (though I think he will be retained for another year, which he will fail again, and then be sacked at the end of next season to be replaced by another nobody).

Agree with you except for the last bit. I think we will get a better manager for next season, or maybe I am just hoping.

Wouldn't you rather we won all 4 games, to give us a chance of getting in the CL?? Strange attitude you have.....

What you are saying, is that you are more interested in getting the manager out than the club being successful!

Your first point is not true. I said he deserves credit. Your OPINION, is that I give him too much... So that isn't true I'm afraid.

If it was a FACT, there wouldn't be debate. He was a huge part of our form, of course he was. He was arguably the third best player in the world. It, however, is only irrefutable to someone desperate to stand by an opinion. Which is hypoticrital in itself when that is what you accuse me of.

Your "balanced argument" is subjective. You pick one piece of trivia to back your point, when there are lots you could pick from that undermine it. It is okay having an opinion. Masking it in "objectivity" is distrustful. You then use words like "unarguable" and "USE CAPS" to denegrade my point, which in fact just proves your post is about subjectivity and completely contradicts itself. I have an opinion I'm willing to share. TRYING, to dismiss mine with meaningless hypocritical repost is so more obviously different to mine and my clear intent, but thanks for the rant, it has been amusing to read.

I said it doesn't mean he is to blame (about players giving up). Of course there is an apportion of blame. If you want to critique my words with a toothcomb so be it. Here is me doing it back to you, with respect.

Too much hypocrisy on both sides it seems, but hey, you just want to lament me. Well done. You're failing in my eyes, but I am just an opinion.

Your OPINION, is that his signings have been 1 in 20. Again. Undermine my opinion by voicing yours is delusional and raises a question of really why you want to pick my argument apart. Were you wanting me to return the favour?

You might want to sack him, I don't. My point about hypocrisy bears great truth in most of what you say, so thanks for backing up my argument subconsciously.

We are 7 points behind 4th with 4 games to go... our form and the lack lustre performances on display, coupled with and away match at Chelsea tells me that boat has sailed.

As for wanting the club to be successfull... that starts with getting the manager out.

My first point is completely true. You've taken one item I've said and ignored the rest that proved your post was completely hypocritical because you had no argument against it. Very transparent I'm afraid.

There is no debate, it is a fact, Suarez is the no.1 reason we finished 1st last year. That's why without him and 120 million to spend we will finish between 5th and 8th. The fact that you try to reference some fake debate that doesn't exist for anyone but yourself is the sorry tactics of "someone desperate to stand by an opinion. Which is hypoticrital in itself when that is what you accuse me of" to use the phrase you so helpfully and incorrectly threw at me, thank you for that.

My "balanced" argument was in parts subjective thats why I said "I'm trying to construct a balanced argument", and nowhere did I mask subjectivity with objectivity. There were facts AND opinions in the post, I'm sorry you got upset by the caps but it appears you needed your hand held through how a post can contain facts as well as opinion so maybe I should have used more. Perhaps a colour system next time? You attack my use of 'one piece of trivia' when I deliberately used it (and said as much) to demonstrate how your trivia was meaningless which you then go on to say yourself(!) making your attack an incredibly "amusing to read" attack that betrayed yourself.

It's clear you got upset thinking I was trying to dismiss you, but I wasn't at all, I directly addressed you, you're entitled to your opinion on Rodgers staying or leaving and I never said it was a FACT that he should go. So that's either a mistake or (another) lie on your part as you got upset at not having something substantial to back yourself up.

"Critiquing my words with a fine tooth comb" is when my eyes started to roll, for someone so well spoken that's an incredibly school boy error to turn to such a phrase when someone challenges a point you made. I challenged the actual point you made not the wording, if you later realise you misrepresented you position that's your error (another one).

His failure in the transfer market is what I called irrefutable, the evidence is the failure of nearly every one of his signings thus far. The 1/2 (that's one OR two, though here I can see where your confusion arose) in 10 I didn't call a fact, it is my "OPINION" but again I'm surprised you need your hand held through that. And again, you clearly got upset by me challenging your points but I wasn't picking your argument apart so your clear emotional reaction seems odd to me, and you I see you have tried to do that to me but you've hopelessly failed whilst making very rudimentary errors that perhaps if you let yourself cool off you wouldn't have done.

Your point about hypocrisy was that people who criticise Rodgers don't give him credit for last season. I gave him credit and blame for the respective seasons directly and very obviously so in saying "my point about hypocrisy bears great truth in most of what you say, so thanks for backing up my argument subconsciously" has no foundation and you've once again (rather comicly, again) hung yourself with your own petard. My post to you was to demonstrate your hypocrisy in not apportioning blame to Rodgers but giving him enormous credit that the evidence suggests might have been to much, and in your quite emotional rant you didn't manage to provide anything to disprove that. Thus ranting and raving without addressing the post at all really.
