In his first stint at Chelsea, he took a team that finished second the year before to first with reasonably heavey investment. Maybe Ranieri would have too?
Again this is a massive hypothetical, let's go on what actually happened, many managers have had tonnes of money and failed to win anything. Mou did it straight away in a highly competitive league. Fantastic achievement that no one can take anything away from.
Inter had won the league 3 times in a row when he took over and he just continued that. IIRC it was around the time juve got dumped for match fixing too so they might have been light on competition? He won the ECL so maybe some credit for that even though it was the worst final I remember watching apart from when Chelsea won it.
Yes it was a terrible game for a neutral but MAYBE he deserves credit for winning a champions league???? Are you kidding me? He deserves incredible credit, how many great teams and managers have failed to do that playing whatever kind of football you want. And he broke a record here being the first Italian team EVER (think how many great Italian club sides there have been in the past) to win the treble.
Real, for me he should've done better if he's the 'special one'. One title in three isn't that good for Real and their spending power. yes they had Barca to contend with but he's the 'special one'!
Well the 'special one' won a title in record breaking style with a record points tally ending a period of Barca supremacy over them and becoming one of very few managers to win all 3 major football leagues. How many great Barca and Real sides have their been (Barca was one of them at the time) and Mou won with a record points tally unequalled by any of them. That's pretty 'special'.
And now chavs again where he failed miserably last year, spent well as they can do and looks like he'll win the title. Big deal with what he has at his disposal.
Many teams spend far more and don't win titles under plenty of managers. Chelsea didn't even spend THAT much and lit the league up for half a season and won the title at a canter. Now this I agree isn't his finest year but again it's a steady achievement.
The only thing I give him credit for is the ECL win at Porto. But even then their semi against Utd was one of the worst displays of cynical football I've ever seen!
Well this says it all mate, you're entitled to your opinion and everything but the whole post is about your unexplainable personal feelings as opposed to the cold hard facts of what he has achieved.
