1. Why are our current crop not given time to adapt? 2. Who decided to play that way with Suarez? 1. Who said they're not. If you are meaning me, looking back through my posts and you will see what I've said about nearly all of them. I don't know, Suarez had been here for nearly 3 years by then. He had shown glimpses of doing that under Kenny, had all those shots gone in that hit the woodwork/ not getting banned for half a season, he would have easily hit over 20 goals under Kenny and we wouldn't have finished as low as we did.

It was a combination of Luis being fecking brilliant and Rodgers setting the team up to play to that. Why did Kenny not realise how to use him to his full potential? Because Kenny wasn't given time. How many times did we hit the woodwork in Kenny's time in charge? If those were goals where would we have been that season? He had a season and a half where as it took Rodgers just one season to see it. Plus, hitting the wood work doesn't win you games as you well know and as many pointed out at the time. Also begs the question as to whether Rodgers improved his finishing does it not? Neither does talk of how bad your players are or blaming that infamous committee. You're just clutching at anything now because you can see I'm right.

Others are saying they don't need time to settle. Just answer who was the manager that got the best out of Suarez? Hitting the wood work counts for nothing!

I've always said I rate Can very highly, Markovic was voted in the Don Balon list of top 100 youth players. I've said numerous times that Balotelli is more than capable of hitting 20 goals per season if utilised properly. Lovren was one of the best defenders in the league last season, he doesn't turn [oops] over night, Lambert should have been used as a cup player, but has no future at our club beyond this season, if we were to sell lallana we will have to take a massive loss, but again he's got no long term future for a top 4 team, massive waste of money having him as an impact player. Moreno isn't good enough but might be in the future, Manquillo is the better of the 2, but is only on loan and we have bags of players readily available for that position.
Rodgers got the best out of Suarez, but it's not as simple as that. We have no idea ow he would have played had Kenny still been in charge, for all we know he might have been just as good.

It's not as simple as Rodgers getting the best out of him because it doesn't suit your argument. No we don't know what Kenny might have done but with Rodgers in charge, Suarez was probably the best player in the world at that time.

Lets be honest here, the season where we finished second, you have to give credit to Rogders for getting the best out of Suarez and Dany, they were instrumental in our attacking display, that led us to scoring over 100 goals. But lets look at the bigger picture here, we conceded 50 goals, capitulated when the pressure was against us, and thus lost the title. And this season, we've regressed further, our attack is by far one of the least potent in the league, equivalent to tha of lower-mid table teams. It goes to show, he's not capable of handling pressure, and not the man to take us to new heights. Moving on, do you think Rafa would be any better ? Sure he won the champions league in 2005 and Fa cup in 2006, but what next ? We failed to win a trophy for the next 4-5 years with him in charge, so is he really the manager to take us forwatrds, or are we blinded by nostaligia ?

You could also make the argument that with all that has happened in a negative sense we are still likely to finish 5th. You could also easily argue on that premise, the addition of 2 top strikers in a team devoid of any at all for most of the season would have us easily top 3.

The point is that we competed... we were there or there abouts except in his final season. Yes, of course we want to win the league but some people believe that's impossible anyway whilst the financial gap between us and others is so big. At least with Rafa we were competitive. Where are we now? Someone posted something the other day about the possibility of us entering the EL qualifying round! Can you believe it?! Not the CL qualifying round/automatic spot.... the EL qualifying round!!!
