Personally i don't gerrard has seen eye to eye with the boss since the real Madrid snub Can you blame him? Rodgers royally fcuked up with the Real Madrid away game, I still cannot believe he dropped everyone and insulted the Champions League as a competition, who does he think he is? And Gerrard wasn't in the squad last night so he can't be blamed again!

If he had done that in the Premiership we would have been fined like Blackpool were a few years ago for fielding a weakened team.
And no the selection wasn't justified because in the next game which was Chelsea at home in the league, Rodgers chose to play all the so called first teamers who had been left out in Madrid.

Thats got nothing to do with the point I'm making.
Is Rodgers selection was justified as you say, why didn't he stick with the same players for the following league game against Chelsea?
His team selection in the following game proved that he rested players in the Champions League which is unforgivable.
