My first post, so take it easy on a newbie!!
Just wanted to say that a few weeks ago I was getting worried about how gutted I would be if Torres, Gerrard or Mascherano wanted to move on/were sold over the summer.
I also got to thinking what would happen if Rafa left (new manager needing time to settle in time, new backroom staff, key players maybe wanting to leave, etc, etc).
After a while, I had a (rare!!) moment of clarity.
Liverpool comes first.
If any player (or manager for that matter) wants to go - then they should just do one (quickly and quietly). I am only interested in players who want to shed blood, sweat and tears for Liverpool FC.
That includes Torres and Mascherano. I don't want to be hearing them say things like they only signed for Liverpool because of Rafa - that is not good enough in my book. You sign for Liverpool because we are Liverpool - the bloody best!
I am also bored of Rafa playing games in the press at the end of every season. I want him to say in the press that he wants to stay here for the rest of his career, or say nothing - simple.
But whatever happens in the summer - I'm not worried, because we are Liverpool and we will walk with out heads held high.
It would be great though if we got back to signing players who are actually proud to play for the Liverpool shirt - and hire a manager who keeps club business out of the papers?
