Im hoping that after a good pre season and a summer of us getting the transfer targets we want then I'm prepared to give Rafa another crack but the first sign that we arent ble to compete for the league then he should walk. What gets on my tits is the way that people are to quick to turn on Rafa and start insulting the guy. Your supposed to support your club through good times and bad.

fair enough, thanks murph.

i think the insults have gotten a bit heavy handed by some but each to their own, maybe people think ive been heavy handed too and thats fine. to be honest i think its simply born of frustration and people are venting and are also unsettled by the unprecedented amount of unanswered questions about our future. but mostly this season appears to never ever end.! laugh

that is the point flame..

the tale of his six years..next year this.next year that..most ppl here i remember were of this view that wait till end of season and i can name a few as well

shud one now refer to Rafa's statements from last season end or start of this season..how upbeat was he,,,to continue with the previous season's performances...bla bla

and he ends up now with a statement that expectations were way too high..its unachievable every year to do what we did last season..promising 4th spot and now falling short of 7th even possibly?

hes a crook who screwed the fans blind trust..

I personally feel 7th is totally unacceptable as a league position (our worst since souness). If he was allowed to get all his targets then maybe see what he can do next season, however i agree with murph. If we fail to mount a challenge or fall way of the pace, then questions will be asked and his position will be untenable.

We have had a shocker of a season!

The worry I have, and I really do think this will happen, is if we dont get taken over in the summer, what will happen to the club. I think personally that we will sell torres for around £50m to pay back some interest/build a new team/put towards stadium.

I know this is controversial, but would it be that bad selling torres to build a new team? i mean, I love him like the next red but he is injured a hell of a lot. he is a whiney little gay and im not sure he is that dedicated to liverpool. (although he says he is).

what do you think??

Had nothing to do with Keane. Keane is a p*sshead and drank his anfield career away. Look at him now?! After Gerrard got arrested we took 10 points from a possible 21 (7 game run). Yet, Benitez is somehow blamed for us not winning the league?! As always, there was a lot more going on than just one man.Rafa should stay but judging by comment about his future, it looks like he's ready to leave.I wouldn't blame him with the way the Yanks have treated him. Promised him and us a lot of things but haven't seen any of it and to rub salt in the wound met up with Klinsmann behind back! Rafa loves this club but think he realises his time is up.

I think this will be the "disaster scenario" southern scouse

If Liverpool went down the tubes (No New Money, No New Owners, No Rafa) We won't be selling Torres and the likes to build a new team, we will be selling them to service the debt that the Yanks placed on us. Probably battling relegation. If we ever come to this point, then welcome Liverpool fans to your new Liverpool FC - the next Leeds, Portsmouth, and Newcastle

Me personally and pro Rafa, I'm hoping new owners come in, Rafa gets multi millions, gets his targets and we challenge and probably win the league

anti rafa heads, EMP, Muj, and you Flames (w@nker) - want a new manager, new owners, but I haven't been able to gauge if you want the multi millions I want in. Either way it does not matter

we have been going round and round with the same sh*te for months having a go about who's right who's wrong and who's the blame, when we have never thought about the worse thing that could happen to the club.

We need to be careful what we wish for.

but dont you think (and again being a little controversial) that if we keep torres, (with no new owners scenario) that when he gets injured (which is half a season at the momen) that we have absolutely no quality up front. The problem we have is, no descent striker will come to liverpool whilst torres is there because they know they are second pickings and wont start and if we stick with kuyt/babel/eggnog then we have little chance of winning when torres is injured.

in essence, we rely too much on him and have no back up when he is injured. if we sell him for circa £50m (or more) then surely we can buy 2 descent strikers, a descent winger and a quality centre back.

I love torres dont get me wrong, and he is without doubt the best there is in the world, but this season has been a failure due to relying on him and stevie too much.
