So is Ah Messi

We need to find a player whose name is made up of the letters of the word Jehovah.

So far our dyslexic transfer committee and those before them have come up with Jovanovic, Lambert of God and looking for a miracle we had Meireles.

Forgive them for they know not what they do.

There's very little relevance in comparing how different managers have done. The transfer market was totally different then, the level of competition was nothing like it is now, there were fewer mega-wealthy club, there were different owners, there were different core players at different stages of their careers.......the list of differences goes on and on and on. and on.
All these statistics and comparisons ar a waste of readers' time. Where were Manchester city during Rafa's time at Anfield? There was NO WAY we could finish outside of the top four back then unless we were utter shyte. That night in Istanbul alone guarantees Rafa his name in our history books but the fact remains that he failed to get us that league title which would have made him untouchable. And comparing money sums from different eras is utterly ridiculous.

Top 4's change throughout history, one team can easily be replaced with another. Who knows maybe Southampton or West Ham will make part of the next top 4.

Some teams Rafa had to compete with -

Arsenal's invincibles.

The rise of Chelsea under Mourinho.

An established top 5 level Everton under Moyes.

Fergie's Van Nistelrooy/ C.Ronaldo United.

Martin Jol's rejuvinated Spurs.

Sam Allardyce's Bolton.

O'Neill's Villa.

Mark Hughes' Blackburn.

Redknapp's Portsmouth/ Spurs.

Mancini's City in Rafa's final season.

The league has always been hard. Rafa's work here was simply stunning and since he left we've managed to make the top 4 once

I do not want to sound anti Rafa because I'm not, but the fact is that during his time Chelsea, Arsenal and United were the only serious contenders for top four. Only three of them and that's why our top four position was almost guaranteed.

Exactly. And listing Bolton under Allardyce is just pathetic. Rafa did good but we were still only the best of the rest.

Yep - and the fans want him (BR) sacked even though top 4 is even harder these days!
