Emp is spot on. If he went to a club that could provide the wages, he'd have them playing with the flair we often do see and the strength we pretty much know isn't there.
It's a team of talented, never really won anythings, playing for a club that (has a huge weight of expectation to place round the necks of the players that) hasn't seen genuine, sustained success in a generation. The obvious world class talent in Suarez drove the squad to the brink of success a year ago but his departure, and the demise of SG, has left a team of very vulnerable young players without any leadership.
Comparing us to Chelsea is laughable. They can afford to buy Salah for more than we can offer and sit him on the bench. Can you imagine Henderson getting mentioned as captain of Chelsea?
I actually don't want to see Rodgers dumped over this because I don't think it is his lack of commitment or ambition that is at the route of the failure.
Yes he is very committed and ambitious, but unfortunately, the job is too big for him. He is unfortunately not a winner, he doesn't have it in him.
