I hate the premise that as long as people will pay its acceptable that's abusing supporters based on history the club should be bigger than that. I am pretty sure people would pay to watch liverpool stood in a bucket of mud but that does not make it acceptable. The ticket prices is comparable to United, Arsenal and Chelsea who all have high demands otherwise how do you differentiate who should get a ticket. Aresenal and chelsea are in London England's capital City and one of the wealthiest cities in the world liverpool is 250 miles away and one of europes poorest cities currently and culture / demographics wise light years different. Also arsenal have a world class stadium, we don't. Manchester United are cheaper than liverpool in terms of the lowest entry price again United have a world class stadium where you are not crammed into a small seat like a sardine. Manchester City who also have a world class stadium are half the ticket price of liverpool. Liverpool need to have a long term pricing structure that brings revenue but builds the long term customer base which pretty much is what city and to an extent United are doing. If Liverpool is one of the poorest cities in Europe, then with the way the game us going now where money is everything, we do not have a chance if we focus on locals who have no money according to you. Only chance is the global fan base which can increase commercial deals + TV money, but for this we need to win things. FSG's plan therefore looks the most realistic but we have to buy players better. FSG have a PLAN?

Ahhh the global fan base the catch all saviour
The global fan base has the option of following any premiership team I wager over time they will follow
A) the most successful B) the most impressive and whether you like it or not Vish that includes an impressive visual stadium
In terms of UK fans I never said cincentrate in locals but I am pretty sure I would not be best pleased to travel say from Kent to sit crammed in a tiny seat and pay similar prices to what they pay at aresnal or chelsea to sit in comfort.
Good luck with the FSG plan for high prices poor stadium and more than likely poor team good luck with that plan Vish because you will need it.

So you think they are just throwing money away? Oh very far from it, they are keeping the club ticking over until the time is ripe to sell. Anyone that thinks our baseball loving owners bought us for any other reason is going to be sadly disappointed. A timelapse video of a sticking plaster being added in place of a new ground shows just how successfully they have managed expectation.

Global fan base follow success when they start supporting but not stadiums. Chelsea is one of the teams who have grown their global fan base the most in the last decade and even you would agree that their stadium is nothing like impressive while Arsenal which has arguably the best stadium has not been doing so great. Why? Because of success. Not sure why you say I need luck as for me, football is far from being the most important thing in my life.

Chelsea demographically are not comparable to Liverpool vish. Chelsea are the west end of London. I dont agree with you about the stadium when I follow overseas football teams like say german the stadium is the first thing I look at likewise NFL when I have watched it. No point in having a world class stadium of course if you are not successful but the trick is to do both. Eventually pretty sure Chelsea will get a new stadium all the other teams Barca Madrid United City Arsenal soon to be spurs west ham will all have top stadiums we wont. AS for the overseas fans and home based its the same thing you have top have both. Go to the Anfield tour you will see the tour is as much about the fans and the stadium as the team. Thats what overseas fans aspire to its the club not the team the whole package that includes impressive stadia big crowds flags etc not a souless corporate sterile event that might work for a few years but long term ALL fans will turn off that wherever they are and whatever their circumstances

The rest did look small, ie, press room, changing room etc (nothing like Wembley) but I was not going to choose a team based on that. When we talk football, we don't talk stadium but who we have beaten and how we played. Stadium capacity is something very local actually.

When I go to anfield on the train I quite often see people who have come on the anfield experience for some reason the operators put them up in manchester and I am on that train. They look Chinese, Korean or Japanese in appearance and they are always festooned with memorabilia from anfield it's the package that attracts people the crowd the impressive stadium the atmosphere the team and match result on the day is almost a side show. I feel this way too and I felt the same when I went to anfield in the early 1970's even today I don't just go for the result alone even after watching liverpool for 50 years. I find it incomprehensible that anyone would think the stadium is irrelevant. FSG model seems to be to refurbish one stand at the cheapest cost and cram as many into the ground as possible and flog it at the highest price marketing on something that happended fifty years ago. There is only so long people will be taken in by that. Also when I am at anfield my guess from hearing people speak is maybe sixty per cent are from the merseyside area these people are being progressively priced out so what the future is for Liverpool FC I am really not sure.

So this will be ready by next season? Yes, and the season after, and the season after, and the season.... Hmm... That is confusing

If we are as you say being prepared and groomed for a sale then that is very good news imo. This paint job is a waste of money long term so we have to take it on the chin and write it off as a summer transfer window gone wrong. I really do hope fsg are on that path, that they intend to sell to someone in the near future, someone who has the financial ability to build us that stadium that this great club deserves.
