Rafa needs to do the honourable thing and just RESIGN instead of holding out in the hope that he will get a huge payoff if he gets sacked. If the fans at Anfield keep chanting their support for Rafa, then he will not leave. It’s now six years on since he took over and the first choice team is still poor with a style of play that is extremely boring and dull to watch. The rest of the squad is just awful after bringing in almost 80 players in the six years, this is an unacceptable situation. He has been given plenty of money and time to buy excellent players but he has spread it around buying lots of mediocre players. Anyone can see that he has sucked the will and desire to play football out of the players with his negative tactics, strange team selections and stubbornness to change. I think a lot of Rierra’s recent comments about Benitez are probably true but poorly timed from the player’s point of view. Rafa is the last person I would look to for an inspirational speech, he looks like he can barely motivate himself? Even his pre and post match interviews are the same recycled rubbish every week, “The team is working hard and we are improving”, “It is really difficult”, “We need to bring in more quality players”. Unfortunately I think Rafa’s grasp of English has caused him to mix up the words quality with quantity. He does not seem to understand or see the passion that this club means to the fans (and some players).
Liverpool has not won a trophy under Rafa since 2006 and neither have they come very close too often; with next season making it 21 years since landing the league title. The team may go on to win the Europa League this season but I won’t hold my breath. They may even undeservedly steal fourth spot in the league but at what cost..... ManU lifting the title. The team has never shown good consistency and always struggled to put together a run of victories similar to that of ManU, Chelsea or Arsenal. Every season there is at least one month where the team plays terribly and drops out of the title race, it’s normally October or November. It seems now like the initial response of the team to Rafa as a new manager is what gave Liverpool the FA and EC success. I think that Rafa now lacks ideas to take the club forward and his guarantee of finishing 4th in the League has proven to be just another off the cuff statement to deflect criticism away from himself. If the club fails to get 4th then he should leave as he made a commitment which he failed to keep. He promises a lot but rarely delivers. Winning a cup every now and again is not what the fans want.
I think he has lost the dressing room after the Alonso and Robbie Keane debacle last season. I’m sure if he had kept Keane until the end of last season, he would have scored goals that would have turned some of the drawn matches into victories; again that’s Benitez stubbornness and stupidity. This pre-season form was also very poor. Clearly there is something very wrong this season and it is far more than a dip in form.
Liverpool is no longer the most successful club in domestic competitions. That honour has gone to ManU with 50 titles (18 League, 11 FAC, 4 LC, and 17 CS) versus Liverpool’s 47 (18 League, 7 FAC, 7 LC, and 15 CS). Liverpool still has the edge in European competitions with 12 titles versus ManU’s 7. But give it another couple of seasons and Liverpool’s claim to be the most successful English club (59 titles) will have been handed to ManU (57 titles currently). The thought of ManU winning 4 consecutive titles and bringing their total to 19 is painful. Many gloating ManU fans that I know have often reminded me of Fergusson’s quote about knocking Liverpool off their F***ing perch; but in reality, Liverpool fell off their own perch a long time ago, no one pushed them. The sign “This is Anfield” no longer makes away teams nervous as they walk from the dressing room to the pitch as fortress Anfield is now a crumbling ruin of times past. Rafa is not the man to inspire the team and instil the players with passion and pride for the club and drive them on consistently to future success. History is not everything but it is what distinguishes LFC from other clubs. Tomorrow’s history begins today so let’s make it worth reading, RAFA OUT, RAFA OUT.
Hasta la vista Senior Benitez!

It's a poor state of affairs, but an accurate reflection of today's society, that people are unwilling or incapable of digesting a post longer than a few hundred words. In any event the Rafa-supporting brigade are so blind that 20 seasons of non-achievement, five billion lines of code or three thousand posts will not convince them the club is disintegrating under their heros command. Start supporting the club rather than a self-obsessed tool, guys!
