As for Balotelli potentially being a £40m-£50m player, I think that's a myth. Balotelli's value has dropped every time he has left a club & he has done absolutely nothing in his time here to indicate that trend won't continue. I want him to succeed but the naivety of some people is astounding, after a couple of goals in over half a season.

He scored and still got abuse, I dread to think what he would have got if he had missed.

As for valuing him at £40 - £50m I was not that soldier. We will do well to get £10m for him, but kicking him at every opportunity, helps neither him or the team.

If Balotelli had criticises SG on air he would have been treated very differently. It's not great for team spirit when 2 sets of ruled seem to apply.

You couldn't make this stuff up and yet we are told that Mario is the trouble maker.

You had no troubles.

Unfortunately in your attempt at humour you missed the point. wink

You have no point. No one is slating Mario for scoring a goal. The reaction is towards him going against his captain.

Yes Mario should have been taking the penalty in the first place and I'm glad he scored, but he undermined Brendan and Henderson in the process.

He has history for trying this on multiple occasions, a stronger captain would've told him to fvck off.

I have several points,if you cant see them, you cant see them.

If Henderson hasn't the balls to take the ball off Balo and take the penalty then why is he captain.

Why would are current captain, wash our dirty linen in public? What exactly did that achieve? This is the same captain who said in August, when speaking about Balotelli, "the manager's told me if I'm not on the pitch he'll take them " Also BR has stated the Balo is the no.2 pen taker when SG is not on the pitch.
When SG said the above, why make the comments that he did?

For the short period he was on he created a couple of free kicks in goal scoring positions and freed up Sturridge a few time, then had the confidence to score a pressure penalty winning us the first leg.

If anyone can be considered ineffectual it was Sterling. Was subbed on and quickly disappeared. Where was BR's assessment of that? Why was Llalanas display not assessed? Poor by BR to criticise a player that has won him his last two games.

If you read Rodgers' comments again, you'll see that his issue is with how hard Balotelli was working after scoring the penalty. I actually didn't see the second half of the game the other night so can't comment but your argument of how hard Balotelli worked prior to scoring the penalty is irrelevant to Rodger's comments.

Yeah, sorry Shags - the second half of my comment wasn't aimed at you but I didn't make that clear.

Right so Stevie G , BR, Redknapp etc all wrong , Mario( has a history of being a toe rag) is right. hmmmm . no logic . BR and Stevie see mario everyday or well the days he turns up without a sniffle. They have both publicly lambasted him , maybe just maybe they are at their wits end with him and see this as the only option. mario apologists think about it for a second.

Whatever he is, or isn't doing Emps, washing our dirty linen in public is helping no one at the club.

Mario is no angel but the least we have to worry about is him taking and scoring a penalty.

Henderson's lack of leadership, SG's undermining of a fellow team mate on national television and the obvious confusion about pen taking duties are all bigger issues in my opinion.

this is not about the peno per say. its about BR having a go at him again for his lack of workrate. he has upset the squad way too much at this stage. if u have an ego in the squad that doesn't push himself like the others then its only right that the manager ,other players etc have a go at him. listen it will all be over anyways in the summmer , he is outta here

No, SG turned it into an issue about the pen, despite the fact that he said at the start of the season that Balo would take them if he wasn't on the pitch.

As for ego's there are plenty of them floating around every dressing room in the premier league. I dont care how big his ego is if he adds to the team and he has improved over the last month.

The summer is still a long way away and we should try and get the best out of him until then. Publicly lambasting him only provides more fuel for the press and doesn't help our cause.

i think i will defer to BR's judgement on that. maybe he wants to send a message to all the youth players or anyone else that wants to maybe sign for us. maybe he just hates him. i dunno but again i will back BR and stevie G over mario balotelli twice on tuesdays
