Rhodes is one of the best natural finishers in the UK in my opinion, could be better than Sturridge in the future.
Jordan Rhodes is 25 and you think he can be better than Sturridge despite never playing in the Premiership? Can't understand this comment at all.  you'll get used to it Chris

Me neither,he still plays for Blackburn ffs,King may cause us a few probs though. He's been at Blackburn for 2 years. Not as if he's been there his whole career is it. king isn't in the same league as Rhodes.

Andy Carroll scored goals for fun in the championship for one season, he also did well in the premier league before injuries set him back, he could probably have 20 goals this season if not for injuries. Jordan Rhodes isn't the same, he has had 6 seasons of hitting over 20 goals, has no big injury issues either. All I'm saying is that he is a massive relatively unknown talent, if I had 15 mil, he's the kind of striker I would be aiming at.

He's not an unknown though is he,as you've stated he's had 6 seasons of nobody snapping him up.

Not as if he's been there his whole career is it. king isn't in the same league as Rhodes. I am sure we looked at Rhodes when he was back at Huddersfield banging in goals for fun in League 1. He took the next step up in his stride. That was the time to buy him if he was really to be any good. A lot of clubs looked at him and Blackburn bought him for £8m where other clubs were not prepared to pay that sort of money for a player from that level. Wouldn't call him relatively unknown seeing as he has also been playing for Scotland the last couple of seasons too.

It's Blackburn mate, not Blackpool. Thanks mate, must be getting old! Woke up this morning and thought it was 1950 all over again!! Would settle for the same result against Blackburn though! In the cup its all about getting through game by nervy game, and every game. Think we could do with winning this one to give us all a much needed lift, and I think its there for us if we want it badly enough.

Rhodes doesn't create for himself and thus will never be as good as Sturridge or anywhere near Shearer. Have watched a lot of Rhodes since he's been at Blackburn and yeah, he can finish but can't create. King's pace is one of their biggest assets but Markovic/Can should be able to handle him.
Gestede has always run hot and cold but is in good form, we would have to stay close to him.
Cairney is their link main and if we shut him down and don't give him space we would have a lot easier of a game.

So if you could have Ings for around £3mil because he's out of contract or Rhodes for £15mil who would you choose? Obviously Ings has scored goals for Burnley in the Premiership and one year's experience in top flight football where as Rhodes is proven only at Championship level.
