I think very few want him sacked, but the thread isn't about that - it's asking about how good or bad we thing he is.
Those who believe he's below par for LFC aren't saying so because he's failed to deliver the title or a title challenge this season. It' because we're only just about competing for 4th place. For many reasons, after 3 full seasons in charge and so many transfers that's just not what we expect. Our defence continues to be a shambles as we saw last night.
That doesn't mean he should be sacked... it depends what the alternatives are. I feel that he should be given another season purely to keep the club stable. However, he needs to sort something out defensively else we'll never win anything - it cost us the title last season. Where do you expect us to be, who should we be above, and why? I expect us to be in the top 4 throughout the season, neck and neck with third spot and with a fighting chance of a top two slot if one of the top two underperform like last season. Why? Because: - we have had three seasons with br and fsg to build a team. we should've got a good foundation, i.e. a defence, in place by now. - we should be above Southampton, Manchester United and Tottenham. Each of them has a manager still in their first season. Not only that, each of them is a foreign manager, with only Pochettino having had previous EPL experience. - Manchester United have the quality, made some big signings and have less fixtures. But they have still been under performing and we should therefore be above them. We lost Suarez and Sturridge but we should've been prepared for it. the only difference it should've made was that insteat of winning 3-0, 4-1 etc.... we should've been able to get some wins by a narrower margin instead of some of the draws/defeats. I suggest the reason we haven't done so is our failure to sort out the keeper/defence over three seasons and our failures in the transfer market - esp with strikers. I can only put this one way.....you're a little deluded.

It's kind of sad how things have changed. It used to be said about Liverpool that we had the best fans in the world. Now it's said that we have the most cringey and deluded fans in the world.

To be fair, it was only Liverpool fans that said Liverpool had the best fans in the world. I don't recall too many Utd, Everton, newcastle or Chelsea supporters saying that Liverpool had the best fans in the world.

Have been lucky enough to be at games at Bernabeau, Boca, Nou Camp, Maracana, Roker Park, St James' and many other as well as Anfield. Crowds can be fantastic; all of the ones above are ones I remember for the atmosphere. Being an ongoing fan is more complex.
Was at the '77 St Etiene European Cup Qtr final. Still is my all time best memory. But strangely, Wembley too for the '96 Euro Semi vs Germany was right up there for 'hairs on the neck' affect.

get a grip guys. Isn't this a discussion forum? what is cringey about having challenging expectations? Some fans are annoyed that we're not talking about the title... all I've said is that we should have been much more comfortably in the mix for 3rd & 4th place than we are.
I was asked to provide a basis for my view and I explained how other teams round us are struggling and that we were ahead of them with our new manager (ok... 2 full seasons not 3) but that we haven't made the most of it and our transfers have been considerably more miss that hit. Why not debate these points rather than resort to cheap name calling?
Don't you think we should be performing at least as well as Southampton? If no, why not? If yes, why aren't we?
Would you be happy if we finished 7th at the end of the season? If not, why are you happy that we are 7th now?
Debate and if we disagree then so be it. What's wrong with having a different opinion? Who decides which opinion is that of a good fan and which opinion is that of a bad fan?
'I was only in the game for the love of football - and I wanted to bring back happiness to the people of Liverpool.' Bill Shankly
'We should have made a signing or two in the last couple of transfer windows.' Vish

Fantastic post! But because it's balanced and well thought out you'll get called a doom mongerer and a delusional optimist in equal measures no doubt.

Might as well add that to the list -
Henderson was down on chart to take penalties in Gerrard's absence, Balotelli took ball off him, scored and we won the match, other wise we would have drawn.
Allen playing in midfield, meanwhile Can's making mistakes in defence, all because BR seems to have a problem with Lovren and barely plays his £20 million defender.
