Since Sterling been back from holiday his display on the pitch has been the best I have seen in a long while. The player has come on leaps and bounds and doing to top defences what I use to see him do playing for the u18. Best youngest in Europe by far.
Looks like BR knew what he was doing sending him back home for awhile.

Yes he did, said so at the time and there maybe one or two others who could do with it over a season with no winter break.

Looks like BR knew what he was doing sending him back home for awhile. yeah fully agree there Keefe, and I agreed with Rodgers decission at the time too, as it was pretty obvious just watching Sterling that he needed a break. Well done Rodgers and he is reaping the rewards from a rejuvenated Sterling.

To be honest, I can't say I've really noticed a huge improvement since his Little holiday - I thought he was playing well as it was, we were all just expecting far too much from him as the team was struggling. Unfortunately it hasn't helped his finishing...
I have no doubt we'll see the benefits long term from him having a break.. but with so many Young players in our team, have we now set a dangerous example???

I think he looks far more energetic. His final pass decision making hadn't until the game against west ham when he made several fantastic last ball decisions. Hopefully that continues.

I just hope in the future we rest players but keep them in the squad - give them the rest they need but key players should be on the bench incase they need to be called upon.
The rest was fair enough given the amount of games played + the World cup last summer, but no other team can afford to send players away from the squad mid season - and god knows we certainly can't.
Should Sturridge have a holiday every Xmas abroad to keep him fresh, give his injury past... or should we rest him where we can but keep him in the squad???

I said it was excellent management by Rodgers at the time. He got it spot on and its not like a players goes on holiday for the first time, all top managers do it to manage their players and keep them fresh.
