Frustrating..

After watching Chelsea and City collapse I was looking forward to going to the next round but wtf was that team selection? No killer instinct and ffs why do these players shoot like school boys? Disapointed and not really confident anymore of going through.

Cannot disagree with that.
Look at Lucas.
Not played for yonks, given a good run, and his form goes up.

All stands to reason and common sense, something that seems to be sadly lacking amongst many 'MUST HAVE INSTANT SUCCESS' fans. eek

It's simple growler. For me you score goals with strikers. Whether he wants Borini or Lambert he has to work with what he's got. And wtf is up with Mario?? A three week virus the fecking girl!

And how long did it take for Costa to have success? Borini has been given all the chance in the world, he is never going to be a top striker, anybody understanding football can see that.

Last nights game was crying out for Lambert - was he even on the bench??? Would have put him on at halftime myself, if not from the start.

How would you have changed the team selection? Sterling Lallana Markovic Coutinho, we don't have a fit striker who's any good at all. We picked our most attacking players, but Sterling's decision making was poor, Coutinho on occaision played fantastic key passes but too often lost the ball, Markovic seems better at tracking back and defending, and Lallana...by christ how ineffectual can one player be?? Was an utter joke last night

Lallana wasn't that bad, he put in a decent shift and got whacked on countless occasions by the Bolton plebs whilst their "Friend" kept waving play on. I would like to put that cnuts head in a vice.

The main problem we have had all season when attacking, is pretty obvious. Our players are obviously under orders to "give it to" the sublimely talented Philippe at every opportunity. He is, in turn, obviously under orders to run into central areas where he encounters two or three guys of far lesser ability but twice his size and strength. The laws of physics prevail at least 90% of the time and our attacks break down. We are also operating with a minute target man (Raheem Sterling) at the moment. Ricky Lambert is a ghost on the pitch when selected, total joke.

Coutinho should be deployed ostensibly on either flank and given permission to roam.
