From the very bottom of my heart, I dont think I have thanked any1 as much as I would like to thank you, you absolute living legend.

If it weren't for you, my 32 years of supporting our beloved club, would never have been half of what it has been.

Your pride, passion, loyalty, your strength in leadership, your sincerety, your humbleness, has portrayed everything our club stands for.

Never have I witnessed 1 man and footballer, carry a club, not only in terms of your unbelievable ability, but for your equally matching personality.

Here is hoping the new year and a new start will bring yourself and other lucky fans of whichever club you grace, the same joy as you have brought us over the last 13/14 years.

And damn those that bad mouth you. they are not fans of this club.

Well said either the best player or up there with the very best ever to play for the club depending on your view. Reading his reasons I think he is making the right decision not to play for a rival and to experience something different in his career. He will take some replacing and the coming 12 months will define Liverpool's future.

I am Gutted that Stevie is leaving, say what you want about him but for me we are losing the last remains of what this club once stood for.
Just watch the man, the great goals, the players around him, and most of all the fans as they all celebrate with him for what we stood for but may be wont anymore once he leaves.
I really wish him well and hope he comes back to this club as soon as possible. in some capacity..

Huge loss for the club. It's great to see fans on this thread aren't questioning his loyalty and suggesting that his heart isn't in it or he'll do a Lampard. The guy epitomises loyalty and it would've been deserved if he won the title with the immense devotion and loyalty he's shown

Legend, brilliant and to me the best ever in an LFC shirt.

I'm truly shattered.

Good luck Steven Gerrard.

Goes down as the greatest to ever wear the red shirt for me. Only Dalglish, Souness, and Suarez even touch him. He's been a hell of a player with such a complete game, and he's played just about every position on the field for us at times. He could run with the ball, tackle, pass, score screamers, and carry this team on his back. I don't know how many times he saved us when we were down, and I don't know how many more trophies he could have won had he left. He's been a rock and a rare example of passion and loyalty in an era of sport defined by spoiled mercenaries. Top man, top player. I'm gonna be a bloody wreck in may.
