Think we are likely to see Toure in for Skrtel. If it's the same system then it should be the same team otherwise.

He is, but he is also more of a liability at the back.

Lovren is a very solid defender, but it seems he just does not suit our system...which is something we should have known, but apparently, we have baboons working in the scouting department.

I heard the other day that a team with 22 points after 17 games has never finished higher than 6:th. Hope that is false info or that we break the record and finish 4:th or even better then! I also heard that last season we had 11 points more after 18 games last season when we were top. But even another 11 points this season would have put us 7 behind Chelsea at the same stage. The race for the title is far less competitive this season but the fight for 3rd and 4th could be quite spectacular this time around.

Too true, a number of our signings haven't suited our style of play, some even being bought or loaned then being played immediately out of position i.e. sahin. Seems incredibly strange. More like, what's available, oh he had a good season, let's shoe horn him in, rather than, this guy fits what we need perfectly, lets go out and get the [oops].

Heard it too on Skysports, so I would suppose it is true. We need to prove that record wrong which honestly I don't think possible by Rodgers. That said, I didn't think we would fight for the title last season, so I hope I am mistaken again.

I find it hard to hate the Chavs though Growler - any club that stops ManUre from winning the EPL is relatively fine by me. Plus, I remember their team in the 80s which provided great entertainment. Still think Pat Nevin is one of the most underrated UK players ever. Managed to shine on pitches where many gangsters would fear to tread despite weighing about 9 stone 7! :-)

I don't understand the "doesn't fit our system" bit with this one though. Mario and Lambert don't fit, but what about Lovren doesn't? He has a reputation as a classy defender with the ball at his feet. He's shown that he can pass and dribble, and he's scored a couple goals. It's just the defending part he seems to have trouble with. He presses aggressively, which suits our style, but he often makes poor decisions or simply gets overpowered. Is that the system, or him just not being good enough?
