So, I keep seeing people on here mentioning 1 loss in 10 games...which on the face of it, sounds ok, however, it's not quite so.

Firstly, in the premier league, we have suffered 4 defeats in our last 10 games, we have won 4 and drawn 2. Yes winning cup games is nice but we should have 1 and only 1 priority this season, and that is cementing top 4. After that, we can worry about cups and such.

Secondly, since when did we as Liverpool fans become happy with "1 loss in 10"? If that read "9 wins in 10" then yeah, i would be happy, but 1 loss in 10 just seems defeatist, like we have become happy just to "not lose"!

I am not happy with approach.

On the plus side, we have been playing much better as of late, but let me remind you of our performance against Burnley, which was dreadful, despite the fact we got the points.

I am not calling for the firing squad, I think it would be a huge mistake to fire Rodgers now, I think it would be a huge mistake to change ownership now too, we need some more stability and lets see how this "project" unfolds. At least 1 more season.

Having said all that, I just want to get back to my original point, 1 loss in 10, is nothing to brag about. I want us to be winning 10 out of 10, and we need to make sure we do not let "1 loss in 10" become our new standard.

Onwards and upwards.

Well the fact is that we are playing better football now than the beginning of the season.

We have been improving from a near relegation like early season start but precious little else at this stage. When we are 1 defeat in 10 games and the rest are victories there will be a lot more reason to be wildly optimistic.

As of now we appear to be heading in a better direction but there are still huge question marks about the club, new signings and Rogers himself.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

The run that Scumchester are on started with a fortuitous draw v Chelsea and they have had some pretty shoddy performances notably beating Stoke and getting a draw at Villa. Even v Arsenal they got lucky and should have been soundly beaten. But there they are up in the top 4 because they are not getting beaten and are picking up points whilst not playing well. In fact all they have going for them is an inspired keeper and guys who can finish at the other end.

For us it is a bit different. After last season as fans we seem to only want to win well which is proving difficult this season until last night. We must learn to take the scruffy wins v Burnley because not every dominant display ends up with a victory. I still don't think we are going to get anywhere near last season's performances for a long time but we all need to accept that any 3 points is a good 3 points.

Yes we have been playing better football but we don't always look like scoring when we go forward. I don't think that BR has turned it around in the way Allardyce turned West Ham around this season or Pardew since October with Newcastle but it is a start.

The next step is a really big one. We need to become a side that does not concede goals. It may be boring to watch but if we want trophies we need to be difficult to play against.

Yes we should keep the standards high but when we struggle like the start of this season any decent run feels good.

I feel we will be contenders for 4th place definitely.

The only description I can find for our performance last night is "weird". Sakho actually looked like a footballer rather than just a great athlete. Skrtel didn't make a single mistake. Lucas showed a bit of power and constructive ability rather than simply ankle tapping and barging. Henderson remained solid in a DM role from start to finish. Moreno resembled a whippet and terrier, in equal measure.

Lovely to see against a decent side. Can we keep it up? I remain to be convinced.

Aspects I was not surprised by - Philippe, loved him from day one, he's our modern-day Barnes or MacManaman. Emre Can - superb 22nd century footballer. Lallana - one of few impressive members at Ingerlund level and blends talent with no little toughness. By that I simply means he shrugs off hard knocks and immediately gets on with the game.

If we get Danny back and Mario rediscovers form (our fans actually supporting rather than incessantly slagging a potentially world class player would help) we are nailed on for a top 4 finish.

Really good post ninja. I also agree on the manager front, though as for our owners, personally I think if someone who is willing to put far more money in wants to own us then that can only be a good thing so I'd happily change owners, but I see where you're coming from.
