You're right, £2m for a top, top keeper is peanuts. But we didn't sell a top, top keeper. We sold a player that used to be excellent but had become a liability, was earning a fortune, and had tried several times to engineer moves to barcelona & arsenal. Reina also publicly came out & said that Benitez was the best manager he had ever worked under. Not the best thing to say a few months after a new boss arrives. People seem to be only remembering Pepe when he was at his best but he had gone rapidly downhill since Benitez left the club.
