It wouldn't make much difference at all. He'd be far too exposed and everyone knows that he isn't the player that he was before his head injury. He's much more hesitant these days and playing behind confused, hesitant, disorganised, error prone defenders would give drive him to a mental breakdown! A defence has to trust the keeper but the keeper also has to trust his defence.

Could it be the other way round?

James is by far the worst 1st choice keeper that I have ever seen play for Liverpool.
Sander was a lot worse than James.

Sander at his worst was on par with Reina at his worst. Diabolical. Neither were ever as bad as James though.

Sander could do nothing other than kick it a long way.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Mignolet compared to Reina when the later was error prone same difference.

Unless FSG suddenly decide to bail Rodgers out with more money, then would you be happy to see Brad Jones as our No1?

Mignolet isn't as bad as people make out. He is predictably being made a scapegoat just because he is the last line of defence. If our back 4 were any good it would be a totally different story. Admittedly, he's had a few shockers but that's what happens when the whole team is playing badly. We 'could' drop him but we'd still have 10 poor outfield players exposing the GK so the situation would't change.

I'd seen enough of Mignolet after a month or so of him being at LFC. Absolutely nothing in the time since has changed my mind. When you say he isn't that bad tell me what it is exactly that makes him good enough?

He has a knack of making spectacular reflex saves look something from a Holywood film I'll give you that, and that is it!

The guy can't catch a flighted ball, his punches ricochet off players and end up half-clearances, his distribution is woeful and release/vision from hand non-existent. No command of his area, no organisation of the defence. Don't even get me started with the rest of his game. To top it all he cost £9 million!

And turn it on it's head, perhaps the reason our defence is so poor and got worse is because he totally unsettles the back line with his clangers. That's where we are Darcus.

The sooner he's replaced the better.

In his first month at LFC Mignolet kept 3 Premiership clean sheets in his first 3 games, Stoke where he saved a penalty, Villa away where he made a great save towards the end and Man Utd at home.

If you wrote him off after that then I wonder how on earth you judge your players.

He looked no better than back end of season Reina even then, and he had none of the mentioned problem areas in his game either in the positive column Chris. If I recall his lightening reflexes looked impressive along with our starts to games which broke the hearts of a lot of teams and gave him little to do.

If he's so good or likely to be tell me where the improvement is coming from? Hasn't he had long enough to show even signs of it?

He lacks anticipation, his decision making is bad and he is too error prone for any club with top 4 aspirations. How he is worth 9 million plus wages is beyond me. I was very critical of Reina but if he stayed Mignolet might have improved and we would have had decent backup.

Mignolet should be dropped and if Jines is the second choice give the guy a chance fvck he can't be worse than Calamity Migs.

I don't disagree with the points you've made about him, especially the distribution and command of his area but there is no way you can justify saying you had written him off a month into his LFC career.
