Very happy with tonight's performance. Massive improvement on last week. Thought Gerrard was excellent tonight, anyone who says he done doesn't know anything about football. Use him right and he will still be a very effective player for us. At least this win lifts the pressure off the team and we can now concentrate on improving on our league position. I also like how Toure provides us with some much needed leadership in defense, keep him there for sure. Mignolet, well... just Mignolet.

I think this shows the need to use gerrard sparingly. I'd rest him at the weekend so he's fresh for Basel.
Still poor in that 10 men Leicester dominated us at the end, but 2nd win in a row, hopefully it'll breed some confidence and we can kick on

very happy? i can't agree.
Big improvement? hard to agree with that either, ten man bottom of the table team. the defence and midfield are still butter.
he keep are head above water, and pressure lifts a tiny bit, that is true. but where is the solution gonna come from. what happens when balotelli comes back, never mind when our defence comes under real pressure.

Maybe I went over the top with being happy flames. But in recent times I've been used to watching pure and utter pish from us, but tonight I actually enjoyed watching us in small periods. There are some signs of a bit of life in the team yet, but striker and goalkeeper are very much needed.

how did lucas not get booked? ! He did ok but he is cronically slow.
I can't see the light woolsey. he might get them functional for the second half of the season but i have no intention of entertaining that false dawn.

Big month ahead for us. At least we are now taking small steps and slowly gaining confidence, which will be key going into the Manc game. And if we can go into January with a few more wins under the belt and with Sturridge to come back in, then who knows where it can lead to. Someone in that hierarchy needs to wake up and see that we are a world class player short of becoming anywhere near top 4 standard though.

maybe 2 or 3 world class players.
the thing about having WCP's is that they elevate those around them. sterling hasnt been the same without suarez, same with hendo and im guessing sturridge will be the same.

Have to give credit for a battling performance and i think defensively we were good in that we won header after header after header; however, overall the quality of our play for most of the game was awful. I hope it's just a confidence thing but theres no pattern to our play and we just don't seem to know what to do when we have the ball. I was hoping with an extra man and at 3-1 up we'd start to express ourselves but still we looked nervy and couldn't control the game.
Very pleased with the win but desperately hoping that we can push on and improve throughout the team.
